Jeff Conaway, the troubled actor of "Taxi" and "Grease" fame whose addiction problems were well chronicled for years by reality TV and the media, has died, reports the Los Angeles Times. He was 60.
He was taken off life support Thursday (May 26) and died Friday in Encino, nine days after being put into a medically induced coma.
Conaway's manager Phil Brock said the actor was found unconscious May 11 after an apparent overdose of painkillers. Reports said he might have been in that state for 10 hours before being found. Brock said the actor was suffering from pneumonia and already was sick at the time of the overdose.

Ke-nickie!
Also Zack Allen on B5.
What a tragic end. Prayers for Mr. Conaway and his family.
RIP Mr. Conway.
I was just thinking of posting that...best Taxi scene ever, IMO.
My favorite scene was when Jim sat down at the piano, starts playing chipsticks, then rips out about 10 bars of some complicated classical piece. His jaw drops and eyes get big - “I musta had lessons!”
He did great on B5, started off as a goof character, but really showed his stuff in the later episodes.
RIP Mr. Conaway... you did good.
I have been watching the Babylon 5 series on Netflix, since I missed it when it was originally on, and have enjoyed watching Conaways Zack character develop.
It is so sad to read of the circumstances surrounding his personal life and death.
Addiction is a terrible thing, and relapses are common.
I recall an episode of "Celebrity Rehab" where the guy who is Dr Drew's "right hand man" at the clinic, a former addict himself, was assisted BY Jeff Conoway when he was completely out of it, and Conoway was sober. I believe tat Conoway became his sponsor.
He was a talented guy, and I feel really bad for those who loved him. They are very much the victims of addiction too.
