It may be difficult, but I would encourage her to look outside the beltway as much as possible. Yes, we need experience, but more importantly we need folks not corrupted by the DC establishment and “business model.”
I like many of the suggestions on this thread: West, Cheney, Bolton etc who are not lifers in the collective. This may be our last chance to radically downsize big government and rid it of the rampant corruption. Insiders may not be up to that task.
Here’s another thought - one final Czar with supreme power for one week. Call him/her the Czar of Shrinkage. Their job would be to shut down all worthless programs and departments - education, energy etc and cut spending to all Democrat front groups NPR, planned abortion, acorn, unions, Pigford “farmers” etc.
“I cannot go with McCain at Defense.”
- - -
“Lol. Anyone recommending McCain for *anything* is deranged. “
absolutely!!! Benedict Arnold and Murtha were Vets also...
“No president has ever recognized the constitutionality of the War Powers Act and neither do I, McCain said. “
...and Perry is too much of a big government republican. Colonel West is best for VP. He would balance the ticket well, is a team player, and can handle ALL enemies...
but this, this, is incredible!!!! it would be PERFECT,
the libs would be rendered speechless as their heads explode:
“Sarah will need a Press Secretary too. We would love to see Tammy Bruce up there every day giving the corrupt media hell!”
I think it is not about the money - it is strictly about the position - money is easy
At this level it is all about ego
It is fun pairing Palin with any and everybody else.
But I don’t know why there has been no mention in this post for a Palin-Rubio ticket ?
I cannot imagine a ticket that would garner more votes - female, Latino, conservative, libertarian, tea party, patriots, and real men.
The only drawback is experience, but that was never a problem for the lame media when it came to the ‘Present’ one.
I really like Cain too.
I have never understood the propensity for so many on this site to hang their hats on unelectable people. Last time it was Duncan Hunter, then it was Christine O'Donnell during the mid terms and now Sarah. We do not represent the majority of the electorate as Duncan and Christine's candidacies showed.
Flame away.
(I'm waiting to see who the first person is to call me a Mittbot, though nowhere did I mention Mr. Romney's name, nor is he a a part of this discussion. That won't stop those with MDS though.)
Yes, Rubio would be excellent. But, as you say not much experience. Although, if you surround yourself with good, competent, experienced people, as in the cabinet, I think in part that would make up for lack of experience. O’bama has zero experience but, he also lacks in good competent people. And their goals are evil and party is more important than country.
No, actually there is no prequal required other than the Consitutional requirements of a natural born citizen, 35 or more years of age.
Character matters more than anything else, in my opinion.
Anyone (who meets these prereqs) could be President, perhpaps should be, rather than some elitist-minded goof ball who thinks they know all and in reality, are lost to the issues....
I would rather see a hard woirking blue collar type over an intellectual silver spoony any time!
Remember, our leaders are supposed be us....
Palin / (McChrystal or Petraeus).
I've met Petraeus briefly, and worked under McChystal at Balad. These guys are both titans. You can't beat already having run other countries for executive experience to run ours. Plus, watching them debate Joe Biden on foreign affairs would be like watching a hungry bear debate a girl scout holding a honeycombs.
Palin / West
West seems a straight shooter and a good politician. He's a bit junior to the scene, but so far his instincts look solid. It's an extra twist of the knife that he's more of Biden's ideal of a 'clean, articulate African American' than Obama is.
Palin / Perry
Maybe not the most rock ribbed conservative, but he's a popular governor from a huge state. That's good experience, and makes the platform solid and credible from day one. It's a good alternative from two Senators who obviously couldn't run a lemonade stand.
Palin / Forbes
The economy is going to be the Achilles Heel of the Obama administration. Forbes is a solid guy, and has name recognition on par if not better than Trumps. Being a 'grown up' ticket running against the whiny children currently in power will be a powerful weapon.
What we don't need.
Palin / Pawlenty, Palin / Santorum, or any variation of Palin / (name your boring white guy). Palin's super controversial, and she needs someone on her flank that's able to deflect fire and be a powerful threat in their own right, now a wallflower that leaves her exposed and vulnerable.
We also don't need Palin / (someone controversial or untested.) That would include Paul or Cain. Not that they don't have good ideas, but the ticket is already charged with star power and controversy with Palin in it. She doesn't need another volatile element with possible major vulnerabilities. No Gingrich, etc.
All in all, I like my first four picks, but am open to others in that vein.
Oliver North?
Ann Coulter as Press Secretary - hilarious and maybe effective.
The only reason I would want McLame in her cabinet is it would finally get his ass out of the Senate. Do the same with the Maine sisters.
Then, 2 years in, tell them there is a cabinet reshuffle and they are out.
Who are you for?
I can just imagine Ann Coulter taking one of those long, rambling “questions” that is really a speech like Helen “The Hutt” Thomas used to “ask”....
You just KNOW Coulter would kick butt and take down names for follow-up butt-kicking!
LOL!
As Dennis Prager would say, "The rest is commentary :-)....
Nooo..... Wrong Department, It is The Director of Vegetarian Re-education Camps :-)...
How about West at Defense. He seems to have the most astute views as to the nature of the enemy.
Haven’t decided. No one has moved me yet. I like Herman, but non-politician don’t normally do well in primaries. I was hoping Mitch would have run, but the DNC slime machine got to his family. I would like to know more about Perry, though he doesn’t seem to be held in high esteem on this site. I like Sarah politically I just don’t think she has chance of winning. 2008 ruined her for a lot of people and some of her decisions since have been questionable in my mind. Instead of spending the last 3 years improving her bonefides she did reality TV, Facebook, Twitter etc., and of course the little issue of the resignation. Bottom line to me is whoever runs against Obama in 2012 becomes my favorite candidate. Give me any realistic GOP candidate and a solid conservative majority in the legislative branch and I will be happy.
