Palin has strongly favorables of 22% of all Republicans

Cain has strongly favorables of 7% of all Republicans.

Only the best known candidates (among the best known) win the Republican nomination.

Cain is not well known enough, but neither is Pawlenty or Huntsman.

How did McCain win? It wasn’t because people liked him. Less informed voters knew who he was. Knew he was a Republican who has been around a while. Victory for McCain.

Your argument contains much that I agree with. Yes, Cain is getting recognition, Sarah really doesn’t have high negatives with Republicans, though. Yes, peple have formulated an opinion about Sarah. Republicans know her more than any other Republican. That’s a huge asset. And, Palin has the highest “strongly favorable” of any Republican.

Sarah is best known, best liked.

I think Ryan or Daniels would work best for her.

Thune could be okay. Another guv from the Midwest or the East could be okay. McDonnell? TPaw? Might be better to have someone with DC experience.

Sure, I’d love a DeMint type, but that’s not going to get her elected.

I think we’ve got such a good crop of young guvs coming along that an older guy who wouldn’t be looking to follow her in 8 years (her Cheney or Biden) would be good, but we seem to only have squishes among our DC elders.

What do you think?

Am I wrong in thinking that Daniels stated that he wasn’t running?

Yeah, I know. But there are millions of women over 40 who are not necessarily voting for a millennial. Hipness is not an issue for the folks over 50, either. She needs to project executive competence, not look like a cable news anchor wearing extensions (whether she does or not).

I live in a rural area. The conservative women I know, aged 45-80, do not care for Sarah. Her voice is part of it. Her look is part of it. Sarah can poll. She is totally aware of who she needs to convince and how to convince them. She can do it or not.

Hopefully, you are not advocating that she stay stuck in some time warp. All women change their hair, makeup and style as necessary. If the presentation does not further the agenda, hopefully, she has the creativity to change it and the brains to do so gradually.

Ryan is well spoken, I like him. Daniels, TPaw and McDonnell....well, I'm an internet political junkie and had to go look them up to even identify them. Gov. Goodhair from Texas has been mentioned, he just reminds me of Romney. I will say this, my 74 year old mom gets excited when Cain speaks....she likes his "passion". Everyone here knows and loves Palin, but remember I live in a state that is the reddest of the red. I will also say this, and it is not a cut towards Cain nor blacks.....but obama, holder and jarret have set back race relations in this country by 20 years.....that's what I get just "talking over the fence". That is my personal opinion.

unlike a first-time senator running for the top seat... or a 35 year senator for the second

i'm 100% certain the length of time in congress has absolutely nothing to do with a person's ability to do the job.

i am also 100% certain CHARACTER is the core component.

and in the character department, i'll take a bronze star recipient over a community organizer or beer guzzling buffoon every day of the week

I was told someone gave her advice on the use of a graphic equalizer to her advantage, that would make sense

So not voting for someone because of an irritating voice? Oh brother. You do know the difference between speaking to a crowd of thousands outside versus a sit down TV interview, right?

I’m for Sarah. The last thing she needs on her ticket is someone who has no experience.

They work for boy bands and dancing girls like Brittany Spears. Frankly I would love to see Palin with a stack of Marshall amps behind her...but that just might be the old rocker in me....;)

I expect Palin would be comfortable with Perry and she might get away with him as a pick, but I think he talks and gestures too much like W for too many voters right now. Barring an exceptional candidate, she’d be better off looking to the East or the Midwest to comfort the voters whom she makes nervous—but could persuade.

I agree, Cain’s a reinforcer of the ‘is she qualified?’ concern and he doesn’t deliver a soul who isn’t already behind her.

I see Cain carrying the South, perhaps Michele Bachmann carrying the Midwest. I don't think an all woman ticket will fly though.

“Thomas’ experience is not applicable. For one thing, that was then, this is now, and the environment is completely different.”

The Dems still denigrate Clarence Thomas every chance they get, to this very day.

The point is that Cain will not get a pass from Dem/MSM smears/inuendo because of his race as you imply.

Quite the opposite, the Dem efforts will redouble against him because they’ll view him as off the reservation......a cardinal sin and one they’ll try to use to teach others the consequences. Keep in mind libs are real sick people.....Your post assumes otherwise.
