She told a 9-11 operator: 'They were... going to shoot me. And I put my kid in front of me', according to ABC. Wait, what? Who puts a kid in FRONT of them when shots are being fired?

Without knowing what actually happened and whether the victim had an assault rifle and pointed it the SWAT team officers, I find this story very disturbing. 71 shots? At one man? This seems like a very undisciplined team that overreacted and are covering up their actions with bluster and ‘righteous indignation’ that anything a SWAT team does is somehow above question. Yet the questions remain. Were any drugs actually found in the home? Why did one man need 60 bullets in his body to ‘take him down’? This may be all legal and proper but it looks bad from here. An investigation - not a ‘witch hunt’ - is mandatory.

The Pima County Sheriff's Office declines to say whether any drugs were found in the house, claiming the investigation is ongoing.

First the military wannabes retract their statement claiming the Marine fired first, then they declined to say whether or not they found any drugs in the house. Smells awfully bad.

In a statement, the sheriff's office criticized those questioning the team, saying, 'It is unacceptable and irresponsible to couch those questions with implications of secrecy and a coverup, not to mention questioning the legality of actions that could not have been taken without the approval of an impartial judge'.

Huh? Questioning the actions of LEOs when someone is killed is unacceptable if couched in implications of secrecy & coverup? That's not part of the press and citizen's right and duty to make sure our peace officers are indeed that?

So I wonder how readily the Pinal Co. sheriff will run to the cameras on this incident, vs the Giffords shooting. Is this the fault of the TEA Party, too?

Pima County’s Deputy Dawg Dipstik says he lives in a “mecca for racism and bigotry”. I guess he is right. I really don’t see a reason to have to shoot somebody 60 times but I guess those “SWAT” guys knew what they were doing. Didn’t they?

Is Pima the county where Congresswoman Giffords was shot? If so, the sheriff there is a liberal nutcase, one of the loose cannons blaming conservatives for causing another nutcase that he had failed to deal with to shoot her. .

Scary. I worry about something like this happening to us, but I figure that by the time they’ve chased down the chihuahua and shot him repeatedly, I’ll have been able to get the kids out of the way.
