NASHUA When a pit bull attacked 4-year-old John Heineman on Thursday afternoon, a hero quickly came to the boys rescue.
Frankee, the friendly family Rottweiler, was being walked by the boys brother, Cody Taylor. As the pit bull latched onto the boys arm and dragged him to the ground, Taylor screamed, Get him! and Frankee lunged at the pit bull, biting it in the ribs.
With Frankee launching a canine counterattack and Taylor punching and kicking it, the pit bull relinquished its grip on the boy. Taylor then called 911.
The mauling occurred at 5:30 p.m. Thursday on Temple Place outside Johns home. Taylor and Frankee live across town and just happened to be there at the time.
John received what police described as serious injuries in the attack, one of two unrelated pit bull attacks that occurred in the city on Thursday.
In the other, a 13-year-old boy was mauled inside a Kinsley Street apartment, police said. A pit bull there bit the teenager, who was visiting the apartment, on the face and arm, inflicting serious injuries, said Nashua Police Lt. Raymond McDannell.
They were bad, McDannell said.

It looks like the pit bull bit off more than he could chew.
Aaawww, aren’t pit bulls just precious?
Rottweilers have a strong protective instinct, the pit bull is luck to get away with only one bite to the ribs.
Good Dog, Carl!!
(for those who don’t know, “Good Dog, Carl” is a book by Alexandra Day. It’s a wonderful picture-book for children-but adults can enjoy it, too! The book stars a wonderful Rottie named Carl. Check it out!!)
That's it? I was hoping to read about the Rotty subsequently ripping the Pit's throat out.
why is that dog still alive? Even the dog’s owner could not make that dog let go? It should be dead. I would kill my dog right then and there if it clamped onto a kid and wouldn’t let go.
I have been told, repeatedly, that attacks like this are rare.
PB’s and Rottweiler both have bad reputations. The article highlights responsible ownership.
The Rottweiler was up to date on his shots, well trained and socialized.
The PB did not have his shots and obviously not trained or socialized. At least the owner had him on a leash but did not have any control over the dog.
I really hope this child is going to be okay......

See now, I am sure that we are only getting HALF the story. We don’t know WHY the pitty visciously attacked that 4 y/o I mean, maybe the little bass turd started it? /sarcasm
I am very happy to see that it was a rotty that bit the damned land shark and I hope the pit is put to death asap.
ditto
Smart dog... Apparently knew to get the Pit Bull and not the kid.
Good dog, Frankee.
Breed of Peace strikes again.
Actually, the only thing that seems to happen repeatedly is that you post this exact same thing. Literally this exact same thing. In fact, I think you are a roboFReeper who just spams us with this meme.
I find it interesting that the cops will shoot a nice dog in its own fenced back or front yard but they don’t seem to be able to make over to the neighborhoods where the dangerous dogs are running loose and shoot them. Now why is that?
BTW, good boy, Frankee! Here’s a steak for ya, boy!
Frankee is a star!
