My thoughts exactly. Even then, it shouldn't cost this much. I'd turn a flock of sheep loose first. They are better hay cleaner uppers than cows. Their poo-poo also dries a lot quicker and is small enough to sweep or vacuum.
We put old tires all the way up an over the school flag pole that was next to the state an US flag poles... Small school an each tire was stenciled with one of the seniors names ...
Had to be there.....:o)
Without using a cherry picker btw....
The best senior prank was the group that turned three sheep loose in the high school. They painted numbers ‘1’ ‘2’ and ‘4’ on the sheep. It took the administration days to figure out.
***Hay is now being treated as a bio hazard.****
I’ve been to several county fairs, Durango, Farmington NM, Tulsa, Benton County Ark, Little Rock, Ark, Roswell NM, Clayton NM.
I have NEVER seen anyone go into respiratory arrest while going through the animal building areas.
Hay in enclosed animal buildings good!
Hay near a school BAD!
Wonder how many people got sick during the old school sponsered hay rides years ago!
Just make the kids clean it up, the whole high school.
Kids, school will stay in session all summer if needed until the building is cleared.
Very clever!
That’s a good one. We had a cow end up in our second floor library at school. Cows don’t like to go down steps.
“What knockers!”
In the not so distant past, the senior class would have just been asked for volunteers to sweep up the mess and it would have been cleaned up for free by them in one day. Hay would have been given to some local farmer and he would have carted it away for free. I guess no one has any common sense left any more.
Seriously, 100K to clean up hay?
I have very fond memories of times in a hay loft. Never noticed any respiratory problems. Then again I had other things to occupy my... ah... mind.
Good thing, y'all would have to had hard hats, safety belts, steel toed boots, little fluorescent work vest, safety cones all around and a least a 5 man ground crew of rent-a-bums keeping bystanders away.
Oh, almost forgot, a 1 day course on how to operate a cherry picker and certificates that y'all completed the course :^)
“Abbey something....”
“Abbey Normal”
Oooops, gotta re-read the story.
I sort of imagined 80 year old seniors pulling the prank in local HS.
It’s just hay... good grief.
Wow, a whole thirty bales. I guess it was just too over-whelming and toxic to get a local farmer to back up his baler to an exit to re-bale it. Unless these were those big round bales, which would be pretty impressive.
Freegards
Sounds like a good thing to spread around hub mint offices
I get allergic smelling hay. (Lisa Douglas)
At my school, those serving any sort of detention would be the ones cleaning up the hay. Not enough serving detention for the big job? Okay, gum chewing = hay cleanup, talking in class = hay cleanup. Easy as pie.
