Shortwave (HF) pirate stations have been fun to track and listen to for decades. I have operating schedules and QSL cards from stations worldwide. They broadcast on “established” pirate freqs (e.g. 6155 kHz) and are no danger to public safety.
Exactly, and it’s the frequency stuff they should focus on.
True...and yeah I was cheering for the pirates in the movie Pirate Radio...
Brute force.
It's much more fun to attack wireless mikes at public events. That way, you get to observe the results of your hack as you perpetrate it.
UPDATE:
Pirate radio station Datz Hits 99.7 busted by FCC, including seizure of equipment. Caused problems not only to WCRB 99.5 classical (actually licensed to Lowell) in Boston area but AIRCRAFT frequencies.
