More information has come to light regarding the death of 27-year-old Steven E. Lupson, II of Charleston, WV who was electrocuted while allegedly trying to steal copper from a live Appalachian Power Utility line in Blair,WV (Logan County).
Police say Lupson’s wife, who was serving as lookout, saw the event and ran to Rt 17 for help. She has not yet been charged with a crime in the incident. Oddly enough, the man’s death happened where AEP power lines were running through a cemetery.
Lupson’s wife, whose name was not released, admitted that her husband had stolen copper power lines before, often to support their Oxycodone habit. She told police today’s theft was meant to finance getting electricity turned back on at their home.
Lupson reportedly had ties to the Jeffrey area of Boone County.
********** I suppose his widow will sue the eletric company.
Sounds like a very shocking experience!

Irony so thick you could cut it with a knife.
Wait! The perp’s family will sue the power company for allowing theft of copper to be dangerous. Trust me, the family will win this one...
“We’re so sorry, but due to vandalism of power lines in your area, we will not be able to restore electricity for at least a week.” A couple of winters ago we lost electricity (and heat!) for 60 hours. Now I understand why people had eight kids in those days, nothing else to do.
