Beck Announces Major ‘Restoring Courage’ Rally in Israel This August

The motives behind Glenn Beck’s recent trip to Israel now make more sense with his announcement Monday morning that he will be holding a major rally in Israel this summer.

“I believe I’ve been asked to stand — in Jerusalem,” Beck told his audience recounting a list of times in history when people and nations failed to stand with the Jewish people. Beck explained, as he has often in the last year, how the life and thinking of the German theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer has influenced him: “He asked people to stand for the Jewish people.” He told of Bonhoeffer’s call for pastors to stand with him. Only six did.

Beck detailed current challenges facing the nation — “Things in Israel are going to get bad…it’s only a matter of time.”

“They are going to attack the center of our faith, our common faith, and that is Jerusalem. And it won’t be with bullets or bombs. It will be with a two-state solution that cuts off Jerusalem, the old city, to the rest of the world.”

“It is time to return inside the walls that surround Jerusalem and stand with people of all faiths all around the world.”

The event will unfold under the designation “Restoring Courage,” with a clear intention that it serve as a step forward from last summer’s “Restoring Honor” rally held on 8/28 in Washington, D.C.

Beck explained that final dates and details are still coming together. He expects that there will be a full week of activities in Israel. There will also be ways for people to participate from here in the United States.

As full details become available they will be posted on Beck’s e-mail newsletter.

Beck explained that a trip like this will be “really expensive” for anyone wanting to participate. He said his team has been working on putting together packages that will make the trip as affordable as possible for as many as possible.

“I don’t know how many people will come,” he said, “But if we can gather seven then we’ll have one more than Dietrich Bonhoeffer did.”

Nothing subjective there at all. Cited actual things you can either look at or hear on his show every day. Are you saying that he didn’t do or say any of those things? Show me where I misstated any of Becks beliefs or actions.

“Beck is all of a sudden an expert on
great matters.”

If that’s not subjective, you don’t know what the word means.

Daniel 9:27 for starters, though it goes beyond the theme of this thread to fully place this verse in context with the other verses in chapter 9. In short this is a pre-millennial dispensational interpretation.

Pray tell, what point of Mormon theology is Beck insinuating?

1. Mormon polytheism vs. Jewish/Christian monotheism.
2. God will establish his kingdom in Independence MO, not Jerusalem. Yet mormonism also claim to be descendants of Israel, so Jerusalem will also be intact.
3. Mormon eschatology holds that Jews, as a chosen people, will ultimately accept mormonism.
4. Mormonism will 'save' the country from a consitutional crisis.
5. That man by his efforts can alter the course of the world.

Just for starters.

Tune up your reading comprehension skills, I've made the statement that there are 'gentiles' already supporting the Jews besides beck.

Interpretation indeed!

I know of no scripture that warrents your “undivided” claim with regard to the antichrist. Therefore the only conclusion that can be reached is that you are perfectly comfortable misrepresenting scripture to facilitate pet accusations.

Do you have an alternative I haven’t considered?

Unfortunately for your credibility, there is not a single one of your “starters” that can be attributed to anything Beck has done publically, thus far.

Nothing subjective about it. Just listen to his show. He loves to say it. If you haven’t noticed, the last couple months he has been saying point blank to true believers of his that if the others are not smart enough to follow his enlightened wisdom, they must move on with his undefined mission. Real humble stuff.

If you need more examples of his unfounded expertise on all matters, look no further than this morning when he railed against the Progressive nature of the GOP, and then went on to say what a fantastic guy Chris Christie is and he should run for President. Christie is a do nothing RINO. Glenn wouldn’t even get off the GOP bash even after Stu reminded him that Bachmann, Rubio, West, DeMint et al are in the party now fighting. Always has to be the smartest man in the room lately even though facts get in the way.

This trip to Israel is another thing he is pushing as some fantastic way to support them. How? He can’t even explain it enough for people who like him to back it. That is why he spent time mocking them today, which seems to be his default mode for dissent. Wouldn’t the smart move be to make sure a pro Israel Pres get’s elected in ‘12? Of course not. He needs to get people to go into massive debt to go to his pilgrimage for self aggrandizement and involve themselves in a political environment that does not think things like these rallies by foreigners is cool. A total lack of understanding of the people and country. Yet he is going to push this harder than gold and survival food.

Spoken with beckian self authority I see. Don't agree with the interpretation - that's your problem. Barring your 'proof' that I've misrepresented scripture, your 'opinion' speaks less of your scriptural skills than your rhetoric. The application is adequate for the comparison being made.

Then why do you arbitrarily parse a historical zeal for Jerusalem as a pretext for your accusations? Does it really matter if he expresses his love for Jews connotatively rather than denotatively?

I see a lot of words intended to distract attention from your error.

The sentence i cited was subjective by definition.

The only question that remains is do you have the intellectual integrity to admit your fault.

What are you, the grammar police? I see a lot of one sentence nit wittery being posted by you, in the last 10 or so, in a vain attempt to defend the indefensible. Why don't you hit me with some facts instead of spiraling around in some strange attempt at a gotcha.

Actually, why don't you enlighten me to how Glenn opened his show this morning so that I can see if I want to bother arguing with someone who knows what they are talking about. I seem to get the impression that your knowledge of Glenn and his views are limited by your ignorance on what he actually says, you sick twisted freak.

My “proof” is your claim Daniel 9:27 supports your “undivided” claim.

Clearly, that scripture is silent on the division of Jerusalem, so I can only see your antipathy toward my conclusion as a rather crude attempt to save face.

This thread and the topic of this thread was about a rally FOR Israel. That was my interest. I believe that men are imperfect, but not all are evil.
The points you made about what Mormons believe about Jews, Christians ALSO believe about Jews, but that doesn’t make me hate Christians or Christianity either.
In my life, I must have heard a zillion times how damned I am. But you know what? Men cannot damn me or doom me. Their words are words. G-d is always with me, so what should I fear? Dogma? Doctrine? Created by men. Changes when the wind blows. No. I am who I am and that is who I’ll stay.
It bothers me those who claim to know what the devil thinks. Makes me wonder how they know those intimate details with such certainty. Makes me wonder that those who claim righteousness for themselves see fit to hate others for doing the same. Hate is evil. And I see it on this thread. It is disgusting. And hypocritical in the extreme. Hate is a disease of the mind and I just don’t wanna be immersed in it like what I see here. It’s an assault on the mind and there is nothing righteous about it. No room in my life for it. Outta here.

You haven't listened to beck very much then. He infuses mormonism into almost all of his interpretations. On his show he spouted off about how the hebrews came to the americas
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MY5WMiWBo1E&feature=related

The premise of his August 18th, 2010 show was that hebraic peoples migrated here and set up shop, from whom the amerindians are descended from.

Beck and his underlying mormons attributed to him PUBLICALLY. Well, now we know why you are a papertyger eh?

Had you further read the context, you would find reference to temple worship being interupted 3.5 years into the peace treaty by the antichrist. Lessee, currently the muzzies control the temple mount - so for the Jews to have control means . . . . . come on paper boy, even you should be able to connect the dots.

I happen to agree with you.

IMO, Beck is doing a good thing here. And those painting him in a negative light because he’s Mormon, are reaching. I’ve been watching Beck for years, and he, especially as of late, has been calling himself a “Christian”, not Mormon. And as far as I believe (and know), Christianity is a personal relationship between oneself and God. To me, the fact that he has been known to be a Mormon is minute...after all, one could say school is a religion - or a cult for that matter.

And from what I’ve seen of Beck, he is trying to unite everyone, of all faiths, to come together and be better people themselves, for the good of the country. As he’s said numerous times, if we start with ourselves, WE can make this country great again. It’s those who continually demean each other, ridicule, find faults, name call, etc, being divisive is what they (Progressives) want from us, and I see no reason to be divisive over Becks message. Those are the people who are hurting this country and helping it along the path of doom, if you will. IMO, of course. ;)

I am hitting you with facts. I am also keeping it extremely simple by sticking to a single, indisputable, issue to make your duplicity obvious in hopes you will swallow your pride and reject your own bigotry, Christian though it may be.

As for this mornings show, i haven’t downloaded it yet.

Whether you regard me as “worthy” of your argumenation means vert little to me. Clearly, you have not defined the subject well enough in your own mind to recognize when you’ve lost.

Why should I waste my time playing cowboys and indians with the kid that screams “YOU MISSED” when I’ve got my finger in his ear?
