"The Big Broadcast is a Sunday night tradition for families throughout the WAMU listening area. Each week, Big Broadcast host Ed Walker offers listeners priceless recordings of popular radio programs from the '30s, '40s and '50s. Priceless, especially, for a man whose first sentence as a child was, 'Turn the radio on.' "

A "Love Note" Sent To Jim Robinson

“I do so enjoy these money raising pleas. Too bad you kicked off so many patriots back in the day that criticizing the big spending Bush was a cardinal sin on the so called conservative free republic.

Nope, I will happily continue to freeload information from this site. If the lights go dark, well, so be it...”

There are those who would love to see Free Republic shut down. If you can, donate and keep the lights on.

And, I gave at the very beginning of this current Freepathon, which I do at every one since I joined Free Republic.

Hello, Friends!

Vision, I wish you could send some rain to our drought-soaked MS Gulf Coast! :-)

Hi.

Seriously! I've been wondering, somewhat praying to send our rain to you all and especially Texas. How much has it been raining here? Would you believe we haven't had more than a few days of sunshine since last fall? Would you believe that it's raining toads? Today I opened my back door and a freaking toad fell from the sky. Must have walked up to the top of the door this morning for shelter- can't think of another reason. Enough with the rain! I'm trying to bbq.

The rain and the drought are two of the various manifestations of anthropogenic global warming, I hear.

Hey, I gave too.

Yes. Actually, isn't any unusual weather a sign we must give Democrats power over every area of our lives?

Wow! I guess our world is “feast or famine.” When it’s raining toads, you know it’s a feast that’s gone a little too far!

We’re doing the barbeque tonight, too. Chicken on the smoker grill with fresh, Texas mesquite wood. MMMMMMM!!!

HAAAA!!! Yes, that's what I hear, too. Amazing how "global warming" pretty much covers "everything," isn't it?

SteelYourFaith, I'm glad you're back home and here with us. We missed you last week when you were in Sin City, LA. :-)

There's the bottom line, Vision.

I kinda resent that DJ Mac Wow guy coming in here as if we're a bunch of slackers who never consider the wellbeing of Free Republic. I see the Freepathon ads, and that's all I need to act. I'm not a cheap skate, either.

It is good to be back from NOLA. It was tough duty. ;-) I somehow managed to hear some good music while I was there.
