LAS VEGAS -- One of the three Las Vegas Metro police officers who shot and killed an armed man outside of a Summerlin Costco has been indicted by a grand jury for giving a firearm to a convicted felon. Thomas Mendiola, 23, was relieved from duty without pay earlier this year.
Authorities said he gave a Sturm Ruger handgun to Robert Justice as a gift between July 10 and August 19 of last year. The grand jury indictment stated that Mendiola knew of Justices criminal past and conviction for theft.
Mendiola along with Officers Josh Stark and William Mosher, fired a total of seven bullets into 38-year-old Erik Scott on July 10 outside the Costco entrance, near Charleston Boulevard and the 215 Beltway.

MM - do you know what is happening in the case involving the shooting at COSTCO?
The Guerena shooting down in Tucson is generating controversy, which it should!
This can’t be. He is one of those brave and trusted police officers that saved all of those shoppers at Costco from a deranged gunman strung out on vitamins by shooting him in the back on the ground.
Hmm. I wonder if they have video of him giving the gun to the felon?
Piece of crap - perhaps he will at least lose his badge so it will be illegal the next time he murders someone.
Darn I was just thinking of the costco killing earlier today. Anyone have an update on where the cover-up, oops, ‘investigation’, of the jack-boot thug murderers is at now?
I would also like an update on the incident. The “victim” was a USMA graduate.
Karma is sometimes slow, but always interesting.
How are the investigations into the murder of that
Costco shopper going?...

I think the investigation is closed, ruled justified of course... but the family has a multi million dollar civil suit filed against the police.
Which, I’m sure will bring more info to light, they always do...
