You can also setup a Precious Metals IRA - and convert IRA holdings to PMs.
Once the account is set up (for example - Sterling Trust) - you transfer IRA funds to the account. You can find best Au/Ag purchases (such as Northwest Territorial Mint) - and then the funds from your IRA pay for the transaction, and the PM IRA Account people arrange to store the PM for you at a suitable secure facility. (Fees vary ...but Sterling Trust seems to be quite reasonable.)
Sterling Trust has a 4 page fact sheet on what can and can’t be stored in a PM IRA ....usually - very high purity PMs (so no, you could not put 90% silver coins in the account, and South African Krugerands aren’t sufficient purity.)
Every time we’ve made a purchase, we’ve looked at prices at all the usual places and always end up at NWTM and buy these: http://bullion.nwtmint.com/silver_stagecoach.php
We have about 250 oz inbound ATM, ordered when silver was running about 27 an oz.
