The ink is usually pretty stable.

If you soak the pages in bacon grease it softens them up considerably.

Thanks for the suggestion!

Those pages are kind of crinkly, like the old onionskin typewriter paper.

Some bacon grease would be perfect.

Also would keep the tubes lubed.
