I'm a nuclear engineer. We consider the Doppler effect on particles at the level of the nucleus. What's the big surprise that it appears at the molecular level?

The OP says they observed the effect for the first time. Are you saying that inference is as good as observation? Or that this is not the first time the observation has been documented?

I am not being contrary -- I just find your post curious from a scientific perspective.
