President Obama travels to Texas Tuesday to tour the U.S. southern border with Mexico for the first time as president, and though it is customary for governors to greet the president at the airport or even accompany the commanders in chief during state visits, he will not meet with Governor Rick Perry, R-Texas, on this trip.

Tough turds, huh bammy... BLNT, not.
.
I heard him say absolutely no, when questioned on the Mark Davis show on WBAP.
My question is why would he? His ego is big enough to want it, but why would someone in a state that is doing well give up the governor’s office to run for something like the President? Whatever solutions that will fix DC are going to be very unpleasant to implement and the outcome is certainly unknown.

Unlike Kentucky, we don't have honorary colonel's. Just ornary Texans. Less talk, more action.
where did that article come from? linky, if u may..
It's almost like Barry knows he's a one-term president and doing all the damage he can in the shortest bit of time.
Thank God we took away his super-majority.
Correct on all counts.
BO has decided he doesn’t need Texas, maybe because Texas decided twice it didn’t need him: Hillary! won the state primary, and McCain won the general election, so it’s clear TX knows BO=BS.
Now and then he touches down in Austin long enough to pick up a bag of cash, but he’s not going to even pretend he cares about what goes on here. That’s why it would’ve been stupid for Perry to waste time, money & effort flying to EP when BO&Co were coming to Austin anyway.
Not a Perry fan, but the suggested tour of the wildfire areas was a nice touch...if BO is ever confronted about his supreme indifference to what’s happening to thousands of Texas homes, ranches, and businesses, he won’t be able to claim he wasn’t asked to see for himself. He’s already said “no”, so seeing the damage can only make him appear more spiteful and petty than he already does.
It’s the second paragraph in the post’s main URL:
go Texas!
sorry, I was replying to the other poster which stated an incident that Obama refused the letter from Perry. I was looking for that story.
Retaliation for sure. There is a side to this POTUS that is down right vendictive. If we think about how he managed to get his seat in Ill by eliminating the competition, I realize there seems to be a pattern of such behavior.
“In the past, Perry has charged that the Obama administration is punishing Texas. The Republican governor has been an outspoken opponent of the federal health reform law, and the state is suing the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency over a proposal to end Texas’ independent air quality permitting program for factories and refineries.
Obama took a shot at Perry in an interview last week with the Dallas/Fort Worth TV station WFAA.
“Governor Perry helped balance his budget with about $6 billion worth of federal help - which he happily took - and then started blaming the members of Congress who had offered that help,” Obama said, referring to 2009 federal stimulus funds.”

Hope that all Republicans give him the cold shoulder as he flys around the country. Good for Bush for not going to Ground Zero in New York. Let this idiot get on his stage and clap for himself.

When we defeat "Barry the Bastard" it is not enough that his term is up. He took an oath to protect and defend the Constitution. He and the cretin who support him must be held accountable for his actions. Exposure, trails, punishment. IT IS TIME!
