In Jackies auto-biography he reveals that his Father was stealing from him in the 1930s. His Father kept his stolen loot in a safe in the house. Jackie knew how to get into the safe. Jackie took out the envelopes of cash and coins and replaced them with cut up newspaper and metal washers for the coins, then put them back into the safe. Then he and his Mother told the guy to pack his things and get out of the house. Jackie's Father went to this safe, and Jackie heard him through the door tossing these envelopes of cash and coins into a briefcase. And the guy left.

About a couple decades later, Jackie is drving cross country in his car. He stops off at a gas station one night and the gas station attendant looks at Jackie kind of strangely. Asks him if he's Jackie Cooper, the actor. Yes, Jackie says, its him. The gas station attendant reveals that Jackie's Father is his co-worker. The both of them live in a room behind the gas station. He askied Jackie if he wants to meet his Father. Jackie says no, and drives off.
