Is it OK to ask for simple "GRAPHIC WARNING" to be said before posting any photos of any gruesome dead bodies? I don't have a problem with them being posted, just would like a warning to be seen BEFORE the photo.
If you want to stick a photo of bin Laden or Uday and Qusay, or whomever, especially the bloody ones, can you give the GRAPHIC WARNING and then do this /

enough times to give someone a chance to not see it, or speed past it?
We sensitive people want you to see it and we want to maybe see it but we want to be ready to handle it. Some of us are very sensitive to these things.
Thanks if you agree.
Something that may help is to disable images on FR. All browsers have the ability to make it so you do not see images.
I know it’s not what you are asking for, but at least you could still enjoy FR.
Congratulations on your baby!
Exactly! I suggest the OP avoid the threads over the next few days when she sees Osama/terrorism because most people are not going to read this post before posting the photos.Sorry for you but th truth is the truth.I don’t mind the photos and am not squimish at all unless someone next to me is gushing blood then I tend to be a little that way...
What are the forum rules on graphic material?
I”m not sure if your post is addressing me, but it must not be since it doesn’t really have much to do with what I posted. I will assume it’s not.
OK, that creeped me out and I’m not going to be able to sleep for a week. Thanks a LOT!
It’s really puzzling to me why there is such a reaction. I really can’t begin to answer. I used to think of conservatives, in general, as a little more kind and considerate than the general population, but to be honest, it seems not to be the case any more. I didn’t think your request was out of line, and the matter isn’t whether or not it would be perfectly adhered do.
But you know, it’s far more fun to make fun of people and get a cheap laugh, or to tell people how silly and overly sensitive they are. Of course, some of these same people will be saying how terrible the culture the liberals want to foist on the rest of us is. Go figure.
That’s a good idea I hadn’t thought of. Thank you.
Remember when men were......gentlemen?
I do.
Faintly.
Congratulations on the impending arrival!
Agreed.
It’s a common courtesy to others that common sense should dictate.
Thanks. Isn’t it like not swearing in front of your Gramma? Isn’t it chivalrous to not rip a string of F words in front of the ladies? Warning people of graphic photos has been a traditional common courtesy here on FR, so I don’t get why my question was slammed like that.
If the slammers were all men, I do feel sorry for their women and daughters, if these guys don’t treat women any differently than they treat their army bros.
I made sure to say that I wanted the photos shown, too. I wasn’t being prudish at all. Sigh. Disappointing.
Thanks for that suggestion. Not only do I enjoy the graphics on FR, but I contribute them as well. (I put up some very sexy goat pictures on the thread about what was found on Osama’s laptop, LOL)
I decided to look at the (now fake) dead Osama pic today, which came with a warning, and I blurred my eyes and whipped through it very fast. And that was all I needed. What spurred me on was the photos I saw on another thread of other dead and bloody victims, and I put up the post not only for me for for others who might feel the same way. Just a little warning would be so nice - even if not everyone did it, that some would, would be kind.
We still have to *** a bad word on this forum, so I thought we still had some etiquette here, sorely lacking elsewhere on the web.
Thanks for having the courage to post this thread, Yaelle.
Did you or did you not say that the request was fair? My response was to whether or not it was fair to request a warning on the photo.
My post was really addressing kindness. Is THAT what you were addressing? If you’re against being nice to people, we can talk. It wasn’t about whether or not it would be perfectly adhered to, it was about whether or not her request was a fair request and the response she got, which was pretty ugly and not what one would expect from conservatives. If that’s where you want to go, fine. We can go there. I do think it’s been pretty well discussed, however, so we don’t have to rehash it if you’re done.
