"Palin Doctrine?"

Cut & Run--that's Palin's Doctrine. Huckabee, Barbour & Romney fulfilled their oath of office. When the going got tough in Alaska this chick quit on her state and ran to Fox News. That's the Palin doctrine.

Yeah, she should have stayed in her position as governor and just declared personal bankruptcy over the never ending legal bills for law suits filed against her... /s

And yours’ is the MSM doctrine. Nice exposure you just provided - and they are old talking points. Get caught up - it even failed for them!

Simple minded people have the same opinion as you. Never surrender!

Did not MacArthur sorta lose the Philippines and then come back later?

Did not the US military get their butts kicked at the Chosin Reservoir and then come back later?

You pick your battles. Any commander who loses manpower and treasure fighting a battle that they cannot win is a stupid commander.

If you are in a battle that you cannot win and there is no earthly reason to continue, withdraw and live to fight another day.

Darn that General Washington for retreating every time the British got close with their overwhelming numbers. He should have stayed and fought (and lost with honor.)

Your opinion of Governor Palin’s decision shows a lack of experience on your part.

I can't believe anyone would disagree with the points she made, but I was wrong.

The oath of office, from the Alaskan Constitution:

All public officers, before entering upon the duties of their offices, shall take and subscribe to the following oath or affirmation: "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of Alaska, and that I will faithfully discharge my duties as . . . to the best of my ability." The legislature may prescribe further oaths or affirmations.
Funny, I don't see anything there about promising to serve an entire term, no matter what may befall. There are only three things being pledged to:

  1. Defend the Constitution of the United States
  2. Defend the Constitution of the State of Alaska
  3. Faithfully discharge the duties of the office (to the best of her ability)

If you want to argue that her resignation violates the third point, you run counter to the fact that it expressly includes a "to the best of my ability" clause -- her ability to discharge her office's duties was impaired by frivolous ethics charges and she made the judgment call that stepping aside would serve the interests of the state due to this diminished ability.

Debate the issue man, childish namecalling only diminishes your posts. Surely you have something intelligent to contribute...

Do you want the truth or do you just want to keep repeating Democrat talking points?

If you want the truth she quit for the good of the State of Alaska, not for her own benefit. The Democrats, specifically one female Democrat activist, kept filing groundless lawsuits against the State of Alaska and Palin as the governor. It was costing the state as well as Palin a lot of money to defend against this onslaught of legal trivia. She decided that since there was a capable Republican Lt. Governor to take her place she would resign and remove the target of the suits. That hurt Sarah but it helped the state save money on legal bills. It was a tough choice and she made the right one.

Now there are people like you who take the side of the Democrats and pile on someone for making the tough choices. I suppose you prefer the Obama approach to leadership but Sarah is a REAL leader.

Now, please STFU.

You're right, she should have remained in office and spent all her time defending herself in court. Who cares that she would have been completely unable to serve the people of her state?

My wife and I will each send Palin $2k the day she announces. We will then campaign for her without reservation, and dedicate ourselves to educating those ignorant individuals who believe what they read and see in the MSM.

We may even have time for you.

Huckabee, Barbour & Romney fulfilled their oath of office.

It's not the quantity, it's the quality.

Palin did more work in those 2.5 years than those three clowns combined.

BTW Romney technically only served 2.5 years too, as he began preparing to run for president in 2005.
