Sorry, but I made no parallels between Washington, MacArthur and our troops at Chosin in winter 1950-51. The other poster did. I de-bunked them by pointing out that in none of these instances did the key player take his ball and go home as Palin did when she quit.

Now, if you want to argue that Washington's winter at Valley Forge is the same as Palin's fold or that Mac's following orders to evacuate Corregidor is the same as Palin's "lame-duck - so I quit" performance then go right ahead.

1. We should only commit our forces when clear and vital American interest are at stake.

Unless it's Libya where there are no clear and vital american interests at stake.

2. IF we have to fight, we fight to win. We use overwhelming force, we only send in our troop into war with the objective to defeat the enemy as quickly as possible: We do not send in our military to stretch out the mission with an open-ended and ill-define mission. NATION BUILDING is a nice idea in theory but it is not the main purpose of our Arm Forces, we use our military to win wars.

Unless it's Libya where we commit air and maybe ground forces in support of a rebel force (nation building)about whom we know nothing.

5. Sending out our Arm Forces should be our last resort....

Unless it's Libya where applying our force was a first option.

I guess we should not talk about Palin's Libya policy statements though, they might kill the buzz.
