I am also a vet, WWII. I also believe in the loyalty oath to protect and defend this Nation and It’s Constitution. My brother who was killed on Okinawa and I discussed this a few time as we were children of immigrants. I don’t equate a service oath to just signing on for a public job which I have done a couple of times. I quit public service jobs after taking the loyalty oath which goes with job. When a public service job becomes such that you don’t feel/believe your effort does not produce or you are inhibited from producing results you believe should occur I’ve always said get out. In today’s government there are too many who know they aren’t doing the job and as for me they should get out. I’ll give Palin a pass on her choice.

Just signing on for a public job? Sir, we're talking about the governorship of Alaska. I take any oath of office seriously, especially one of only 50 in the greatest nation the world has ever known. I'm not Alaskan but I'd bet they'd consider the governor's oath a little above the level of, "signing on for a public job". Beyond that point do you see how you have to insult Alaska's citizens/sovereignty to pretend that Palin is a viable presidential candidate?
