Just signing on for a public job? Sir, we're talking about the governorship of Alaska. I take any oath of office seriously, especially one of only 50 in the greatest nation the world has ever known. I'm not Alaskan but I'd bet they'd consider the governor's oath a little above the level of, "signing on for a public job". Beyond that point do you see how you have to insult Alaska's citizens/sovereignty to pretend that Palin is a viable presidential candidate?
I was one who cheered when she resigned.
A few political enemies were intent on bankrupting her and her family. They were well on their way when she pulled the rug out from under them.
She was so busy defending herself against these frivolous charges, she could not keep up with her duties as Governor. That left her with the only logical option; Resign!! That left her opponents scrambling around looking for something to do.
It also left her free to earn the money to save what they had spent a lifetime accumulating.
I realize that some who suffer from severe PDS, along with those who just don't like women, are never going to accept this move for what it is, a BRILLIANT political move.
First of I don’t believe I said anything about Palin being a viable candidate so where/how does this insult to Alaska come from in your comment. Please don’t put your feelings into my words. Secondly, I don’t know that an oath to defend, uphold, and protect the Constitution at any level carries with it an oath to stay in office come hell or high water or whatever. Could be that many politicians think they can’t be removed from office because the oath means absolutely for term. SC justices are the only ones I can think of that have such a guarantee.
