Deutsch Goes Gaga Over Obama Announcement: 'I Have Never Seen A More Commanding Commander-in-Chief'(
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 05/02/2011 7:30:55 AM PDT by governsleastgovernsbest

Lincoln's Gettysburg Address. FDR's "we have nothing to fear but fear itself." Reagan's "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall." Meh. Not bad, but nothing compared with Barack Obama's announcement last night of the killing of Osama Bin Laden . . . at least, apparently, in the eyes of Donny Deutsch.

Appearing on Morning Joe today, Deutsch said of President Obama's remarks "I have never seen a more commanding Commander-in-Chief."

While I agree that it was obama's most presidential speech ever, osama on his best day is almost as presidential as Reagan on his worst day.

You are correct. Obama deserves credit for sure, but all he did was serve as a conduit for the intelligence community and military. What else was he going to do? Deny the mission? It is well known Clinton did exactly that in the 90s, and deservedly gets criticism for it. This, however, was a different situation as killing or capturing OBL was the number 1 mission of the United States for almost a decade. He had no choice but to approve. If he denied it, he would be finished. There is no way it would not have made it to then public. Assuming he had some input on the process, they did a great job deciding not sharing this information outside of a small circle to keep it covert. He would have been blamed if it went bad, so he deserves some credit for a success.

This Administration seems to want conspiracy theorists to have abundant material upon which to ruminate. That way, they can label all questioners of Administrative opacity as nut cases.

Last week, after months of obdurate refusal to release the original long-form birth document, the Administration finally publishes something different from the other questionable "birth certificates" and this one has major flaws. They point to it and say, "See. This answers all your questions." Less than a week later, on a Sunday night so it will dominate the Monday morning news cycle, they finally run an op at a compound that had been pretty solidly identified by the last administration, use forty Seals in four choppers to do it, destroy one chopper in the effort, and reportedly kill two bin Laden family members (one supposedly OBL) and two couriers, and then dump the body in the sea "to honor Muslim death sensitivities." The proles in the US may buy it, but the Arab Street isn't. The MSM is trying to make our demonstrations look like the Arab Street demonstrations after 9-11. I'm sure Al Jazeera is making the point, in their coverage of infidel celebrations.

We are left with several posibilities:

  1. Osama bin Laden was killed four months into the conflict, in December 2001
  2. or Not
  3. or Osama was killed during some other conflict between then and now
  4. or Not
  5. or Osama bin Laden was killed in this Pakistan Safe House Sunday night
  6. or Not.

Obama bin Lyin' is trying to boost his ratings by taking credit for wrapping up a loose end that it looks like could have been done before now, one that the Bush administration had well underway when Obama came aboard, and doing it in such a way that, with his track record, seems dubious, ingenuous and unclear.

It's as though he designs these revelations to look politically expedient and bogus.

‘I Have Never Seen A More Commanding Commander-in-Chief’

It is easy to grandstand at the expense of other more capable and courageous people. Nothing TOO great in THAT. Why doesn’t/can’t “O” accomplish anything HIMSELF????

This ‘President’ just HAPPENS to be in the WH when the hard work, commitment and daring of previous leaders have finally paid off!! (BTW-it is galling to see “O” assume credit for the courage, commitment and ‘daring’ he criticized in Bush and disparaged in Conservative Foreign Policy)

“O” has become a perfect caricature of leadership and there is no more laughable and unconvincing personality in ANY Gilbert and Sullivan comic opera than “O” casting himself as a ‘Commander in Chief’.

I read (but admittedly have not verified) that Mr. Obama used the words ‘I’, ‘me’ and ‘my’ something like 23 times in his annoncement/speech, and that he referenced the U.S. military 3 times.

I believe it. Here is what I posted on a different thread:

Obama’s speech was awful. I never in my life heard anyone use so many words to say so little in my life. And his use of the first person and his credit taking, scene stealing and general self centered behavour was appalling. He made only what seemed to me the most perfunctory and minimal expressions of gratitude and appreciation of those who actually made it happen.

ZERO had NO choice. It would only have been a matter of days when the info would have been LEAKED. That would put the final nail in the Zero coffin.

Has anyone else noticed that the 'Go' was given on May 1st - the most important day in the Communist calendar?

“Someone should ask Donny Douchenozzle if this will fix the 0bama economy? Jobs. Gas prices. Food prices.... what a fuskin’ schmuck.”

Of course the “One” is going to fix the economy. He is going to fart out millions of jobs and pee $1 per gallon gasoline.

I have never been a fan of George W. Bush. I think he was a lousy President. But I don’t hate him the way the left does. I think he was so wrong on so many things that... well it doesn’t matter now anyway. On the good side for Bush is he was and still is a classy man. He has more class in his little finger than Obama will ever possess. Had OBL’s death occurred under Bush’s watch (oh how I wish it had) he would not have taken one iota of credit. He would have praised to high heaven the troops directly involved and had praise enough left over for our entire military.

I obviously do not care for anything Obama. As usual with him it is me, me, me. I did it, I authorized it, I be da man. He is absolutely classless. Oh he’ll be pinning medals on the warriors who did the deed but even then it will be all about Obama.

The already Obama fawning press is going to explode with articles on the greatness of Obama and how he is the best President we have ever had. Prepare yourselves the bs is going to get very very deep.

“Moron. One, we got the information from Gitmo, which was a triumph all in itself, and second, when we found out where Bin Laden was hiding and we asked for permission to take him out, what was Zero going to say? No? He couldn’t. He had to go along with it.”

If I understand this correctly, we did not get permission. We did not consult with Pakistani intelligence and we did not use Pakistani military in the raid.

In other words, Clinton could have done the same exact thing when he knew of Bin Ladens location, but instead claimed that international law forbade that.

So...... Was Clinton lying? Or, did Obama break the law?

If you want to go political on this, this is the question we should all be asking today. Because if Clinton was lying, then yes, we can connect him directly to September 11, which if true, just eliminated Hillary if she thought she could sneak in the race somehow.

Deutsch’s lack of experience with manly leaders is apparent, isn’t it?

Personally I would enjoy watching an army of Donnie Deutch’s follow obama over the next hill ....

I am more-or-less in agreement with you regarding president George W. Bush (perhaps not quite as negative as you about his negatives; but in 100% concurrence regarding his positives).

Did you happen to see/hear his comments on the killing of bin Laden?

He was gracious in his praise of the current occupant of the Whitehouse, and, as always, VERY generous in his praise of those who did the real work.

Appearing on Morning Joe today, Deutsch said of President Obama's remarks "I have never seen a more commanding Commander-in-Chief."

"Mr. President, using intelligence gathering techniques you campaigned against, we have tracked down Osama bin Ladin. The U.S. Armed Forces that you campaigned against by claiming that they could never win the Iraq War have planned a military operation that we believe has a high chance of killing him. Should we proceed? Yes or no."

"Well, .... uuuummmm, ..... I'm kinda new at this ...... Let me think for a minute. ...... ummmmmmm ...... My final answer is ....... ummmmmm ........ Can I use the 50-50 option? ...... Oh, yeah, that's right. ..... That was a 50-50 option ..... My final answer is ...... ummmm .......... Yes ...... ummmmm ...... No ....... ummmmmm ........ Yes?"

"Is that your final answer, Mr. President?".

"Should it be? Help me out here."

"Is that .... cough .... Yes it should be .... cough .... your final answer, Mr. President?"

"Yes, final answer."

"Thank you Mr. President. I have never seen a more commanding Commander-in-Chief."
