The big news of the day is the death and burial at sea of Osama bin Laden. Thank you, President Bush and the US military (including my son and future son-in-law) who made this day happen. Other news is the nuptials of William and Catherine in Great Britain. May God bless their union and draw them close to Him in Jesus Christ. Alabama (my state) and other southeast states continue the task of digging out and rebuilding. A massive effort is underway with able bodies and supplies needed.

Yes! This is a day for much rejoicing. It was a long time coming but come it has. Our timing is not God’s timing and His purposes are being worked out up this earth. We can rest in His sovereignty.

No, you weren't getting subtle hints. Others have had a hard time finding and getting to the other site. There are good reasons for having it and there are good reasons for being here.

WHAT WE NEED IS PARTICIPATION! People need to stop by regularly and just tell us what is happening with them and interaction with each other. Most of our other threads on FR are about specific topics, but this thread is about us. Therefore, each of us are needed to make it work.

Oh! I forgot much of my reply. Yes, you saw me just days before the surgery. At that time, it hadn’t even been scheduled so I didn’t mention it to much as so often I get offered glorious things and yet, for one reason or another, it just doesn’t pan out. PTL, this did.

We do plan to return this summer. We need about $7K to do it. We’ll officially be there for two years before another furlough but we’ll return for personal time, seeing our new grandbaby and then for the youngest’s wedding in 2012.

I however still have my FR stalker & so personally do not share much that could AND HAS resulted in problems in my life. I do post elsewhere in a protected thread...

I do NOT know his screen-name but know he checks out my posts due to his showing up & participating WITH ME physically if he knows any of my plans. He is not dangerous I am sure, but annoying & gives me the creeps.

I can share some things however. Facebook for me has been an interesting and good thing. Protect also there who sees your stuff. If someone gets wierd, they are GONE with the Wind!

You are right about bullying, etc. I do want to encourage people to participate because each one adds something. I am not a draw. I don’t have that type of personality. I’m more like person who is on the sidelines cheering others on to posts of greatness and then adding, “what he said!”

I just want to emphasize to all who may be lurking, you are important and what makes you smile will likely make someone else smile, too.

It is a pity about the stalker. I have had a few clingers-on in my life. I understand the challenge.

before you leave USA you need to make a trip to his (Toby) place & help him with his computer (as you love this type of work so much...LOL) & make sure he can find both places.

I wish I could have visited with him & others on my swing into Ga but timing with my travel partner & his musical gigs was the limiting factor

I just now checked with a soldier who is at our home. He has received no orders to return to post. OTOH, I do know that the State Department has issued a world-wide travel alert and ex-pats who dwell in predominantly moslem countries need to be extra vigilant.

AM afraid that many of the young people naively think that the war on terror is over. Now discussing problem on FOX. Pray for our country and her people.
Am proud of our military and intelligence people but they still may have very difficult times ahead.

Dad is better than he's been in years. Helped me plant potatoes and certainly has enjoyed checking the chickens with Rascal dog. We've had so much rain he doesn't get to go out as often as he wishes.

My garden is growing great, and I've already had a few things out of it.

I wound up with a small commercial pig in a barter exchange, and I'm currently bootlegging it here in the back yard in the city. When it gets a little older, it goes to the freezer. (or sooner, if I get caught by the city)

The old frenchman has chickens, and is getting eggs.

Life is ok. I can't complain.
