I’m appalled. We are celebrating murder and it will create a ripple effect of hate. (Hate to make a “liberal” comment and slam me if you want) But there will be people who will take this as a reason to cause violence and the media is encouraging.

You need to stipulate unambiguous criteria when taking the wagers. When I was a boy in New York, the daily number used by the underground was the last three digits in the DJIA published in the WSJ that day. The DJIA used to be published to the nearest penny in those days, so if the Dow closed at 345.23, the winning number was 523 and anyone holding it was awared 150 bucks for a 25 cent bet. When JFK’s birthday showed up on 11/22/1963 a lot of bookies hotfooted out of town.
