Western culture celebrated today at the royal wedding
April 30, 2011 | Vanity

Posted on 04/29/2011 1:53:23 PM PDT by Cincinatus' Wife

Instead of spending another day immersed in Middle Eastern names, culture, religion, death and destruction, the world was treated to western culture, etiquette and a Christian gathering in the House of the Lord, to celebrate the marriage of a man and a woman who love one another.

It was a beautiful ceremony, in a beautiful setting.

It was uplifting. It was a happy, joyous day.

I wish the newlyweds a loving and productive life.

Queen Elizabeth can take a bow now that the British royal family will be in good hands after she's gone.

No, my wife and I did not have sex before marriage. And Jesus forgives - IF we repent. But if we boast of our sin, he does not forgive us.

They had the right to get married. However, they have been very open about living together and the church ought to tell them a church wedding is for those who agree with what the church teaches. Of course, in the case of the Anglican church, that might not be much anymore...

so people who have sex before marriage are never to marry in a church with family and friends as a witness?

This is America..land of the rich and poor, good and bad, sick and ill and we are all created EQUAL...EXCEPT FOR you...
THAT IS SAD...and you are raising kids...hope they believe everything you do and they never sin...

People who want to be married in church ought to be Christians. That requires them to repent of sin. Not to be sinless, but to be repentant.

America does not rule God or the church of God. Do you support having homosexuals marry in church? What about transsexuals? After all, “This is America..land of the rich and poor, good and bad, sick and ill and we are all created EQUAL..”

I marked the joyous occasion by re-watching Braveheart.

Here is my favorite scene...

I don’t know. The whole cohabitation thing is bothersome, but they are at least getting married BEFORE they have children and aren’t doing some awful carting around of 7 children UNMARRIED like Angie and Brad or something.

How the heck is Mr. Rogers an agitator?

Is fornication a sin anymore?

Is "Hey, shack up and if it does not work, f* off" a Heavenly gesture?

"So glad you can stay fit and not get pregnant before our nuptials, might had to have an abortion if I forgot to take my pill, my dear" disingenuous crap suppose Christians have spewed by the thousands.

No wonder the earthly Christian Church is weak, the excuse makers like yourself have deemed the Gospel to say "What ever feels good is sanctimonious."

Who from the US government was invited to the wedding? I know for a fact that the obama family wasn’t. Perhaps they could have placed the Churchill bust in a chair that was reserved for the US.

“I’m Catholic and was surprised at how much the service paralleled a Catholic wedding”

I dated an Episcopalian, and he referred to himself as a “J.V. Catholic”. Not sure what that means, but assume there’s little difference.

“it is very hypocritical for someone who is unrepentant about shacking up for 8 years to want to have a church wedding.”

I doubt if it was an issue — what Kate may, or may not have, “wanted”. This was the Queen’s show in the end, as are all these types of events.

This is closer to the type of the chicks I saw in Manchester. Like I said, I was VERY pleasantly surprised at how hot the women were in England.

I forgot the name of the club we (group of guys from work, no girlfriends) ended up at. It was “’x’ Blue” or “Blue ‘x’”. Part of the club had a roller skating rink in it, and it was close to the Ferris wheel. Any FReepers that know the name of the club, please share.

Usually when someone I don’t know gets married I don’t give a flip. Maybe that’s just me. ;d

A lot of people are involved in events that are more than just about them (as I articulated in my post). Besides, I don't KNOW a lot of people who are in the news but I still feel it's within my free speech rights to discuss how they effect me.
