...Superman announces that he is going to give up his U.S. citizenship. Despite very literally being an alien immigrant, Superman has long been seen as a patriotic symbol of "truth, justice, and the American way," from his embrace of traditional American ideals to the iconic red and blue of his costume. What it means to stand for the "American way" is an increasingly complicated thing, however, both in the real world and in superhero comics, whose storylines have increasingly seemed to mirror current events and deal with moral and political complexities rather than simple black and white morality. ...Liberals should renounce their citizenship and move to Cuba or Venezuela.

storylines have increasingly seemed to mirror current events and deal with moral and political complexities rather than simple black and white morality Morality is simple, and it is black and white. The biggest lie from the libs is the claim that there is no absolute morality, that's the fib that gives them an opportunity to pretend that the rest of their lies are just different perspectives and not pure evil. To a lib, there are no absolutes, and they will tell you with a straight face that the absence of moral absolutes is an absolute truth.

What happened to "Truth, Justice, and the AMERICAN way"?
This is pure, immature, crap; adults with the wherewithall to understand this malarky do not read comic books, and those young people who still read comics probably don't even understand it. It would be very boring to a ten year old.
When Superman starts being used for propaganda, it's time to just shut down Superman comics...

While this wouldn't be this first time a profoundly American comic book icon disassociated himself from his national identity -- remember when Captain America became Nomad? -- this could be a very significant turning point for Superman if its implications carry over into other storylines. Indeed, simply saying that "truth, justice and the American way [is] not enough anymore" is a pretty startling statement from the one man who has always represented those values the most....The idea is to brainwash every one...just look at what goes on in our schools and colleges. Liberals hate America and they hate themselves

Well he died too, but they brought him back. Maybe that’s what’s going on here. Or like Bobby on Dallas, maybe it’s a bad dream. It will be if it hurts sales.

Nah. I’m more surprised that idiots actually buy comics. Haven’t bought one in 5 years because they are available on the web for free download LOL.

Once upon a time, the Fascists claimed to be a race of supermen. This claim proved to be false. It has taken a long time, but Fascism rises again, and this time they have decided that if they can't be supermen, then an American citizen can't be one either.

Well, what does alter-ego Clark Kent have to say about this? The two might want to adjourn to a phone booth and have a conversation.
Does this mean Clark will lose his longtime job at the Daily Planet and Jimmy Olsen will... FINALLY... get a promotion and become something other than a dumbassed cub reporter?
What about Lois? Has she weighed in on whether she wants to make that move to ... wherever?
(Haven’t read a DC comic in decades.. have no idea what the characters are up to these days, so I’m probably wayyyyy behind the times!)

As a reporter for the Daily Planet Clark Kent is a card-carrying member of the MSM. He has to toe the liberal line. Looks like he drank the Kool-Ade and believes it now.

Sales are already awful. I think Superman struggles to sell 35,000 copies on the direct market. I don't know what newsstand sales are, but I doubt they are significant. This sounds like a way to get the anniversary issue in the news, but the likely effect will be to drive even more readers away.

>>> Leftist Crap in the Comic Books
Perhaps but let's not be so hasty. This may require further consideration.
In context we see that after fighting the most powerful evil supervillians in the universe, it takes the Obama administration generally and the Hillary Clinton state department in particular to chase Superman off.
