Obama's plans have worked out well. Thousands of well intentioned conservatives have devoted years of effort into chasing this birther conspiracy, attracted by the tantilising prospect of getting Obama disqualified, and now Obama has gleefully produced the goods. As a result, those independents who were wondering about the birth certificate will feel the arguement and therefore those who make it have been discredited. In short, the birthers now look like idiots. If they persist in challenging his status as a citizen they will look like Kooks as well as idiots, and indisputably they have wasted huge amounts of time and resources that could have been better spent in actually challenging what the man was doing.
