Sony has announced Sony Tablet that delivers the combination of hardware, content and network. Sony is developing two tablets, including S1, which is optimized for media entertainment, and S2, which is for mobile communication and entertainment. Sony Tablet will become available in the global market starting in fall 2011, the vendor said.
Sony Tablet is equipped with the latest Android 3.0, which is designed for devices with larger screen sizes, particularly tablets. Both tablets are Wi-Fi and WAN (3G/4G) compatible and users can not only browse the Internet or check e-mail but they can also access digital content including videos, games and books through Sony's premium network services and more, on-the-go at any time.
The S1 has a 9.4-inch display. Its off-center of gravity design realizes stability and ease of grip as well as a sense of stability and lightness, Sony said.

Its S2 tablet will be more unusual, with two 5.5-inch displays and a folding design. The displays can be combined into one large viewing surface or used separately.
So by next year there might really be serious competition in the tablet market. Oh well, Apple will have gotten about two years of an almost completely cornered market. Competition is good.
