Randy Moss didn’t go to WVU! He went to Marshall! He lived in WV and his HS (Dunbar) played my HS (Brooke) in the state championship. He was a one man show in that game and it was Randy Moss that beat us not Dunbar! He had such bad character issues that even FSU didn’t take him! You have to be pretty bad if Bobby Bowden didn’t take you.

You guys picked a couple right at the top of my list, as over-hyped by liberal SI of course, as world beaters.........

Loved the unforgettable run by Bo, just stampeding over Bosworth, and the baffled look Boz had after the play..Would love a youtube clip of that.

wasn’t archie manning a horrible pro football player. I think he won 2 heismans and then was a bust.

NEW YORK GIANTS
Best: LB Lawrence Taylor, North Carolina, 1981
Second pick became the prototype for the modern linebacker. Taylor revolutionized the sack with his arm chop that stripped the ball.

Not to mention that sweet, sweet flamingo leg he gave to Joe Thiesmann in '85.

No one’s 1st round pick could be worse than the Minnesota Vikings’ selection of Dimitrius Underwood out of Michigan State in 1999. Guy attends morning practice, then walks out of camp, never to return. Even on draft day, his coaches were quoted in the paper second guessing the Vikings, and openly stating that the Vikings’ coaches never called them for a reference. Unimaginable. At least the other players actually played a game in the NFL.

Archie Manning did not win the Heisman(you may be thinking of Archie Griffin.) Was a good quarterback on a terrible pro team.

for the Jets, I would have selected Joe Namath over Freeman McNeil as their best draft choice. Namath made the franchise.

Yeah, thanks for correcting that. I thought of it and I remember Manning on the AINTS back in the 70’s. Wasn’t griffin on the Bengals?

I was thinking the same thing about Mandarich. No, he was never Dan Dierdorf or Anthony Munoz, but he had a respectable later career in Indianapolis. A total bust as a high draft pick, but not a total bust of a career.

Yeah, Orlando Brown got hit in the eye. Courtney was just injury prone.

Junkin was a worse pick. Healthy, Courtney could absolutely dominate a game. I saw him do it a couple times.
