I spent hours on the computer at school attempting to convert and then burn a 5 minute TY video to DVD following various instructions I found on the net , but without success . Can anybody who has done this successfully please instruct me on what is the best / easiest way to do this ?
No, but that’d be interesting.
I can download from Youtube and change the video format but I’ve never tried to burn it to a DVD or even a CD...
I assume you mean a DVD that would be recognized by a TV’s DVD player?
never tried it, I am sure there are probably a lot of FReepers that have though.
Look into
Free Studio manager
DVDVideoSoft
Allows you to do all kinds of things with youtube videos.
You need DVD authoring software. If you have it, download the YouTube video via a Firefox extension (search extensions for “video downloader”). Make sure to pick the highest quality version of the video to download. Then drop the video on your new DVD project, insert a blank DVD-R, and burn.
If you have a Mac, it came with iDVD, and it’s brain-dead to do this. Click to start a new project, pick a template, drop the file onto it, and burn.
For a PC, more recent versions of Windows Movie Maker will do it, or Windows DVD Maker on the ultimate versions of Windows Vista and 7.
Scramble it through DIVX flash substitute crap?
take a stack of books place your digital camcorder on them push record then hit play on you tube then download to computer then burn dvd
Thanks for all the replies so far ...A teacher at my school ( here in Japan ) , who knows less than me about computers , asked me for help . He needs to give a DVD to some kids at school to help them with a school project . I am using a PC which has Windows movie maker .
Download “MacX HD Video Converter Pro For Windows”
It will let you download videos directly from YouTube and burn them to DVD.
You’ll have to search for it. I can’t recall where I got it from but it is free.
use a youtube downloader
use a converter
burn to dvd
They are all free all over the net.
There are various programs that will let you capture youtube video. I have used both Roxio and Nero to turn those files to DVD.
you can get a add on for Firefox that will covert it for you it is called “Video Download Helper” you can covet to ipod, avi, and DVD Pal or DVD NTSC and many other types. When you click to download it gives you an option to download and convert.
It may say you need to install something usually Windows Media Player if you use windows you should be ok.
OK told you wrong it might ask for Gstreamer or FFmpeg to be installed.
THat will convert it, you still need to download something like ImgBurn to burn the DVD and if you plan to put multiple YT videos on one DVD you need a DVD menu editor like DVDStyler.
Those are free, you can ubuy something like Roxio or Nero or Adobe Premiere or whatever if you want to spend some money and get everything you need in one software suite.
Download Any video Converter or some similar conversion software and convert the video to .wmv. an an MPEG-2 file. Be sure to check your settings so that you're converting to the same file dimensions (640x480) and a compatible audio codec.
You can import the converted video file into Windows Movie Maker and burn a DVD.
I use anything that has the options burn image or burn ISO, right now i am using Brasero and K3b but I think these are only offered on Linux. Imageburn seems I used that on Windows years ago so if it is still around it must be pretty good.
Copy yer utoob addy in an it will turn your video into multip.e formats to save as you wish....mpegs to flv etc...
Hope it helps....
I didn’t mention that I did download the file yesterday and chose to convert it to a .wmv file , which t remains as I had trouble converting that file into something that could be burned in WMM . Should I download again and choose to convert to a different type of file ?
I find it frustrating to read typos describing specific steps to precisely follow to achieve result.
