Anyone other than me having problems with Search Engines?

I started friday night having problems with all search engines...

...I would type in a term and when I pressed enter or search it would take me to an entirly different URL with NOTHING to do with the term. WIERD!

My guess is that you have acquired a virus that corrupts your search engines. I had the same thing happen to me recently. It is adware that bypasses your antivirus protection. I had to take mine in to have it cleaned.

Speaking of search engines, I use ONLY “Startpage”.
Unlike Google, it does NOT record your IP.

I am not the paranoid type, but every little bit of privacy
helps.

I suggest you install and run Malwarebytes in full scan mode.
It's a free program and does a great job.

Check out “Google Redirect Virus”. PITA viruses, sounds like you have what I had on here.

I had a similar problem. I wanted to research “neo-nucleotide peptide bonding.” But somehow I kept typing “nude skanky stewardesses.”

Was it scour.com? There's a couple of redirect viruses out there that are getting on my last nerve...Or at least they were , I downloaded some add ons (script block, ad block, site block) from firefox and when I was rerouted to scour after a search I declared scour an untrusted site and I haven't seen it since.

I got a virus from an Internet site ( reverse phone look up) even though I had Norton installed. It took out all my programs including PC recovery, but not my data. So I reinstalled from back up CDs and now I’m using McAfee for my anti virus.
Took all weekend...Argh!
