Is Fox News dictating anti-birther views? Is that why Beck is leaving?
(vanity)

Was just browsing the following FR thread:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/bloggers/2706066/posts?page=1

In which Beck is referenced making what appears to be birther-consistent statements. Skeptical at very least.

Flat-out birther even, perhaps.

Makes this poster wonder, whether the reason Beck, BOR, Hannity, Ann Coulter - have been so strangely hostile to "birthers" - is because they are being forced to be?

By Fox News?

Is this why Beck is leaving?

Is Fox, becoming part of the problem?

Actually, I think that Beck is ending his television show for very personal reasons. He is an intelligent man, and well connected beyond what any of us could hope for. He knows as fact or falsehood many of the things we merely speculate on. I suspect that he’s come to the conclusion that knowing what he knows, he can no longer safely continue to live in and raise his family in New York.

New York has proven to be not only a terror target, but a solidly blue state that insists on sticking its head in the sand and pretending reality doesn’t exist.

If something bad happens - say an Iranian EMP attack on America in 2012, New York will be uninhabitable.

Beck can move his family to a better (safer, more sensible) part of the country and still do his radio show.

That’s what I think, anyway.

Is Fox, becoming part of the problem?

Karl Rove is at the center of it, I'm sure.

You may be correct. Two weeks ago, Glenn made reference to the possibility of an EMP attack....the only time I’ve heard him address this very likely scenario.

New York City would be the LAST place a reasonable person with a family would choose in that event.

What this thread needs is more conspiracy theories, pulled out of the air.

From the linked FR thread:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/bloggers/2706066/posts?page=1

“- “I don’t know where [Obama is from] I don’t think he’s from where they issue birth certificates – I think he’s from Hell.”

- Glenn in a Satan voice: “Put your little hooves on this paper” refering to Barack Obama’s birth certificate

Just saying.

How are those statements, consistent with any of the birth certificate ridicule - almost like yours - which you’ve heard from (anyone) at Fox?

Did Fox carry Sarah Palin’s rather newsworthy speech today?

Beck can move his family to a better (safer, more sensible) part of the country and still do his radio show.

He could also still do his TV show from the "safer, more sensible place," if safety is the issue. (Palin, for example, has a TV studio in her house in Alaska.) The real reason that Fox has canceled Beck is because his show has suffered a significant decline in advertising revenues.

I’m not being paranoid.

I’m bashing Fox News Network.

They have earned it.

“an Iranian EMP attack on America”

There is a risk Iran sponsoring biological, chemical, nuclear, dirty bomb or even suicide bombers. There is little to no risk of them having a successful EMP attack.

I sometimes wonder if Zero has threatened to do unspeakable things to the country if they don’t leave him alone, so they are all trying to ride out his term.

Beck lives way out in Connecticut (which isn't to say that a nuclear blast in NYC wouldn't spill over).

Actually, his house is easy to locate on Bing Maps.;-)

Don't think Coulter - nor O'Reilly, for that matter - could be strong-armed into silence. Think BOR has lib tinged staff whose research is 'limited'. He has made mistakes on air that show bad research; and stands often by 'mis' stats prepared for him. It appears at least that BOR, does little 'substantial' research on his own. Think he is also a bit 'taken' by Obama; and does not want to go there. He prefers a middle rail when it comes to Obama.

As for Hannity; he appears closer to the truth. He is tackling the 'Ayers' angle per his authoring Obama's Dreams. Was surprised, however; that he appeared shocked by the idea, when Trump brought it up; given Ayers has admitted being the author; and writing has been essentially 'voice printed'/mapped; since initial investigation a couple of years ago.

As for differing opinions; we cannot be surprised that some of the most seemingly enlightened, are not perfect/lol. . .in their judgments.

All to many on this thread are experts at their own opinion and only their opinion. The title of this thread implies that the “break” with Fox is about one issue or another and it is totally unfounded and just again, opinion without knowing all the facts.

The reality is that other than Beck, his business associates and those at Fox know the facts, especially when it comes to the partnership he signed with Fox for his new future as a partner with them.

So speculate all you want, but this citizen will function just fine with or without him on Fox and I will contiinue to use his analysis as that, analysis. Whether it is aligned with my views of the world is not as important as it is just another source of information to build my onw mosaic instead of trying to figure out whose picture I should “buy”.

Well, it is...about the same way that Nashua, New Hampshire is a suburb of Boston.

Where Beck lives in CT has a very rural, small town feel to it. It's in the woods.

For the price of a ticket to his show.
