What is going on with silver? When I bought at $17 I was told I was nuts. I have read that $80 or more is not out of the question. Should I buy more? I ain't selling because nowhere do I see that the dollar will be strengthening anytime soon.

Some of those coins, depending on dates and condition, may be worth more as collectibles than for the silver value. IF your family was considering selling them, be sure to have a reputable coin dealer check them, before just selling based on the silver market prices.

...Gold will be so valuable that even 1/10th of an ounce will be much too valuable for most day-to-day transactions. Silver will become the currency of choice for daily transactions.

Absolutely, how are you going to buy a loaf of bread with gold? The gold size would have to be microscopic.

In his book "Patriots" John Wesley Rawles, in describing what conceivably could happen after a total currency collapse, has people doing what they have always done, i.e., form trading markets. And the currency is silver coins. Gold is much too valuable to be used for that purpose.

“On a side note, now is an excellent time to clean out the garage and take as much scrap steel to the dump as you can haul, because the price on scrap ain’t too shabby these days either...Of course that means our light poles, metal bridge pieces and guard rails will be disappearing again soon as well....”

Fortunately, that happened to be one of our hobbies. They now sit in the safety deposit box in the bank.

It’s easy to see that Stansberry is getting rich by selling his “expert” advice. I’ve read through this thing twice now. It drives me crazy. The sky is falling over and over again. We know this already. BTW do you know what the failsafe investment is that he uses as a hook? I tried to figure that one out. Real estate? Land? That is what saved a lot of people through the last Depression. We managed to survive off the land. That is why it was a good thing to have.

I bought at $49. Still waiting to make a profit.

What the heck kind of silver did you buy for $49/ounce? I know some coins are going for that on eBay, and some companies are pushing coins at premiums for their numestatic value, but when the stuff hits the fan, numestatic value won't mean a damn.

Hmmm.... Silver, and Gold is just there to preserve your buying power and not to make money.

I see, back when the Hunt brothers were the players. I’m surpised you held on to it this long - may not be too much longer before you break even. :-)
