“See what I did there?”

Yeah. I was deeply impressed.

If someone doesn’t do something stupid and take him out, he’ll do just what both Jack and Arnold have predicted. He’ll break every record and win more than both of them put together and be the greatest golfer the game has ever seen, because he has no holes in his game.

And just like Babe Ruth and Ty Cobb and Ted Williams and Jim Brown and Jack Johnson and Max Baer and all the other reprobates and sex fiends and awful people who have played sports at a level others never have, he’ll laugh at you and all the others that that make stupid assumptions about them.

And they will pass into history having been someone you will never understand because they play at a level about which you can only guess.

And you play at their level so can speak of them truthfully? Geez man you’re taking this way too seriously. Starting to freak me out a little so have the last word I’m checking out! But one thing, please don’t put Ted Williams in your reprobate category w Tiger he’s an American hero.

Are you kidding? He's 35 years old. An apt comparison to Tiger, in my mind, is Tom Watson. For a period of about seven or eight years, Watson was the greatest golfer on the planet. There was nothing he couldn't do. Then he turned 35 and never won another major.

Woods may yet break the records, but it seems very unlikely. There are more good players on Tour than there were 10 years ago, and Woods is getting older. That's not a recipe for success.
