He has God-given athletic ability. He chose to use that ability to be a role model for self aggrandizement and immoral behavior.
Greatness is not in a golf swing. Greatness is in character, and what one does to help his fellow man. How many USO tours has Woods been on? How many hospitals has he toured? The answer is somewhere near zero.
One of his conquests is the just-legal daughter of a friend of ours. She worshiped him since she was 14. He turned that teenage crush into another place to bury his pee-pee.
He is nothing more than in immoral prick.
Tiger is the role model for every Black kid who things money, acquired in any way possible, is a guarantee of special treatment and a cessation of the requirement to lead a moral, just life.
Stop and think for a moment what his kids are going to experience for the rest of their lives, the snickers, the put-downs.
He is no better than some BA rapper. Both have talent. Woods just fooled us for a while that he is a nice guy.
Woods is an incredible golfer, there's no disputing that. However, talent, be it in athletics, entertainment, the arts, business, or whatever, DOES NOT equate moral character.
Tiger mastered the art of APPEARING in public to be a great role model. He didn't cover himself in tattoos or surround himself with thugs, but in private he used financial blackmail to treat his wife like a doormat and used his fame to treat impressionable young women like whores.
In the end, he proved himself to be exactly the negative role model that so many contrasted him against.
Tiger may be the best golfer of all time but he will never be the greatest. Character is part of greatness. The two can not be seperate.
“He has God-given athletic ability.”
And hitting twenty million golf balls. I it ... “it’s God given.” BS.
Tiger is up there in his behavior with other horribly screwed up sports heroes, like Babe Ruth and Mickey Mantle and all the others above whom you obviously tower, morally. They haven’t been pilloried, though. Wonder why?
Get over it.
Us?
Bitter much?
