IE9 is much better than both IE8 and IE7. Learn to use it. You’ll be better off.

It takes a little getting used to, but it doesn't take long to adjust. Right click where the toolbars usually are, perhaups under the favorites and home buttons, and you can select what toolbars to display.

If you want to download and install IE8 again, go here:

I got seduced into upgrading to IE-7 some years ago, and the initial version of it sucked pretty bad. I had a geeky friend who told me how you can cause your computer to revert to a date and time that was PRIOR to the date and time you downloaded the new version, and voila!...you are magically back where you originally were. No harm, no foul. (I do not remember how I did it, but one of our Freeper friends surely can). Anyhow, if-and-when they get the new version cleaned up to where it no longer sucks, THEN you can move on up to it.

It isn’t widely known, but with IE9 open, press the F12 key. It will open a developer’s panel along the bottom of the screen. I’m not home and am replying on a cell phone, so can’t refresh my memory. But in one if the tabs you will see a choice of which rules to run the browser. You can choose IE8. Also, IE8 should still be on your computer. A fresh copy should have been installed with IE9. Click the Start button, then look in All Programs. There should be links to both versions.

You don't need to re-install IE 8.

Control Panel->Programs->Programs and Features->Installed Updates.

Scroll down to "Windows Internet Explorer 9" and hit Uninstall. You'll be reverted back to IE8 if that's what you had installed before.

I am wary of any of Microsoft’s upgrades.
When they offered IE7, I upgraded and could no longer use my HP scanner. Later when they offered IE8, I hadn[t learned my lesson and the drivers for my printer stopped working.
I hate the upgrades.

Since we’re on this IE9 subject, is there anyway to get my Favorites to all open in the same panel like they did on IE8 instead of opening a new panel for each group selection?
