Happy Saturday Freepers! I found a really spiffy old lidded beer stein at Goodwill, and it has an inscription on the pewter lid; I was wondering if anyone can tell me what the last line means? I'm assuming it's military, it looks like the type of thing you give your CO when he changes units. Google only turned up one page, and it's all in German.
The inscription says:
Maj D. Hartin
1973-1976
GenFISichhBw
There is a big Luftwaffe air defense missile training base at Fort Bliss.
I think my brother trained at Ft. Bliss.
Well, that pic is not from Ft. Bliss-it’s from the White Sands missile range.
There’s a ton of Air Force people in San Antonio because of the base. Lots of AF people go to Germany. Someone probably picked it up there and brought it back to SA.
Is tin tha soft? I’m not talking about orange juice froma carton, you cut the orange in half, and rub a bit on it, lemon also works, but not as well. I just simply use simple green, it does the best job of all, then finish with hot soapy water.
