Congratulations House Speaker John Boehner, thank you and my respect for you has grown so much in this one night. You did the stand up job, you are the man and I am willing to say so and take the jibes from those who say it isnt so. I say Thanks again, this is the first step, may be a small step but it was also a big step in mind set and in showing the power of the Republican leadership. When I say my respect for you has jumped in no small way, I really mean it for what its worth coming from just another Republican in the Middle Class. For some, they are going to say that someone blinked, that it wasnt 60 billion, but those who know the score also know that this was a huge victory for Republicans, yes the Tea Party, and the first strike in the battle front that is yet to come and the win was ours. In regards to abortion, its already in the wording that tax payer money should not go to pay for that as the battle moves forward the day of reckoning is coming for the abortionists who take our tax money as well, this is the first step in a bigger battle to come. God bless and continue the great job.
I agree. It’s not the beginning of the end, it is the end of the beginning of the first battle in a long war.
For selling us out.
I will agree until Planned Parenthood is done for. There is no reason to keep this leach to stay alive.
Bull MSNBC is. Pi**ed
Hah. Howard Kurtz thinks that this is a triumph for BO.

For some time now, I have been asking God to
rout out corrupt enemies of my neighborhood,
my city, my county, my state, my country ...
AND to stand up Righteous people in leadership.
Tonight I thank God for evidence that He hears
and answers when we call upon His Mighty Name.
I agree. He got some real concessions out of them, re: the Senate voting on repeal of the healthcare bill and not funding more IRS.
You mean LEECH.
That's BIG. That will put a lot of dims who are up for re-election...in a tight spot.
Just heard my pet project was thrown overboard again. Some s#$t. Who cares again? Planned Parenthood needs to go from taxpayers funding. I always thought it a simple thing.
I disagree. The American people voted in 2010 based on promises the GOP made...and put them in power in the house on on the way there in the Senate. One of those promises was 100 billion and now they are not keeping it.
They should have, IMHO, held out for the entire 61 billion, and defunded planned parenthood. If they will compromise over 20 billion (which does not allow them to meet their promise of 100 billion), then they will not have the grit it takes to get through the 6.7 trillion which is really what is necessary.
The GOP should have then passed a bill to fund the military and send it through alone (which I believe would pass alone) so they show they will not play politics with those serving in harms way or their families. Then held firm on the others and forced Reid’s and Obama’s hand.
The House repubs can kill this thing next week...or tonight. Boehner should never have gone for the best deal he could get. He should have shut the thing down.
If the House repubs do not go for the deal in enough numbers, then the shutdown will occur. They will try and talk them into going along, but the Freshmen/Tea party repubs need to vote a definitive, No, IMHO.
Thanks. I am full of Single Malt right now. But still paying attention.
Congratulations Mr. Boehner, for continuing your establishment ways and selling the American people out. 38B, woo hoo!!!! That’s gonna make a dent in the deficit.
...also congratulations for your securing the continued funding of Obamacare, Planned Parenthood, NPR, and the EPA Global Warming regulations. You’re doin’ a hell of a job!
How so? Almost every single Dem is already on record as supporting both. They will gladly vote against cutting funding for Planned Parenthood. And that includes Bob Casey. And while these Democrats vote in favor of continued funding, they can remind voters that John Boehner also voted in favor of continued funding on April 8, 2011.
Agreed and I sent Speaker Boehner a message of support.
I’m waiting to see the entire release of exactly what was agreed to. I’ve heard bits and pieces but want to read the agreement myself and not feed into or off of, the emotional release I see exhibited. This is a war where must stay united through each battle. I’m in it for the long haul.
The ‘genies’ of government spending and debt are out of the bottle and dems can’t avoid this dialogue any longer. I will continue to support those who are laying the groundwork for 2012!
It may have been a victory for Republicans, but is was most certainly not a victory for the teapary. So if you’re a Republican, I guess you’re pleased tonight. If you’re a conservative, you’re not.
We got rolled!!
It was a wonderful victory for Boehner. He handled these negotiations masterfully, and it was a great plus that the Tea Party was there prodding him on to greater heights, allowing Boehner to do these hard negotiations by saying the Tea Party would have to be agreeable to any deal he made. The Tea Party was the wall that Boehner was up against (they had his back in more way than one) actually making it easier for him to play hardball. Winning!
