I was reading on the internet when all of a sudden my screen went blue and said it was shutting down.
My computer restarted fine and the error for this said:
"Download updates for PX Engine
PX Engine has stopped working properly.
To solve this problem, go to the Roxio Software website to download and install the update"
I have never seen or heard of such a thing. My kids burn CD's, etc. but I have no clue what this is!
Thanks for your help.
Dell Inspiron Windows Vista Home Premium All AV and Malware programs updated daily
Roxio is the CD burner software. Who knows what happened, but with Vista all things are possible.
Installing or updating Roxio or other CD/DVD burning programs can cause a mess.
Dump Vista.
I was not planning on downloading anything my system does not need. Weird.......
It recently took me three days to figure out a small button on the bottom of my mouse was preventing me from using the taskbar. Actually there are three buttons which push, switch and flick. I don't don't even know what they do nor which one was the problem.
There's your problem. Dump it. Go to Windows 7. Use Office Professional in it's latest disguise. Go to Firefox. Set up automatic scan and update.
In regard to the children using the computer, go to strict "Tiger Mom" guidelines. Immediately replace any child not behaving properly or attaining at least a "B+" average in science and math and 90th percentile test scores with a likely looking orphan. Wait until all chores are properly done, but make replacement announcement BEFORE dinner.
I hope this was helpful.
Stop Roxio from loading at start up and see if you still have the problem. That dll maybe shared by other programs if I recall.
Weird it would blue screen and shut down.....sounds hardware related.
LOL!
Do a web search on ‘px engine blue screen’ and you’ll see that others have had this problem or similar. And on more than Vista.
You might want to use a different program to burn CDs.
I am wondering....my daughter had her ipod plugged into the computer all night. Maybe that had something to do with it. The kids do not use Roxio.
My son uses U Torrent or some such thing.
uninstall roxio if no one uses it.
What the hell are you using [insert OS/machine] for?!It's really tiring.
I know. It doesn’t really help with the immediate problem.
Am currently running O(bama)S(oftware) Version 08, never have a problem as my computer doesn’t work at all and my bank account is always full of other peoples money...
Update or unistall Roxio. It’s CD-ROM device driver is conflicting with Vista’s CD-ROM device driver.
LOL - yes, and most of them are bad...
