The ballerina is an idiot. The time to negotiate your credits is when you sign your contract. You don’t wait until the star wins her Oscar. This is old news. People portray genius talent in movies all the time, and guess what? The actors can’t play virtuoso piano, sing opera, dance like magic, or play amazing sports. Do you think Tom Cruise is a real naval aviator? So they get talent to do those scenes.
This dancer should have kept her mouth shut and enjoyed her paycheck.

That's a fair point, and one that shouldn't be undersold. But, Top Gun producers never claimed that Cruise was an "amazing" aviator, or that Jamie Foxx was a virtuoso cello player, or that King Kong was a crazy-talented ape that worked for bananas.
In the run-up to awards season, and epecially the Oscars, there was a concerted PR campaign that claimed Portman did almost all her own dancing. It seems that was a lie.
I’m sure it required a strict regimen of diet and exercise just for Portman to look enough like a dancer so that you could plausibly believe she was the same character as the ballerina double.
