WACO, Texas, March 25 (UPI) -- A young Texas woman decided there is no such thing as bad publicity when she considered names for her Waco eatery and decided on Fat Ho Burger.
The restaurant opened Tuesday, and Lakisha Evans' plan seems to be working so far, KENS-TV in San Antonio reported. She has a straightforward business plan.
"My burgers, they're cheap. They don't go over 6 bucks because I thought, you know, I grew up in poverty," Evans said.
Evans, 23, grew up in Waco with her mother and five siblings. She is the only one in the family to graduate from college.
The whole family is working at Fat Ho Burgers, but Evans said she had to invest everything she owned to start it.
"I had to sell my car, my tires, my TV, my laptop, my computer. I had to sell all this to get this up," she told KENS.
The name is bringing in the customers.
"I was just wondering is this the famous place we can get burgers at," one asked.
Dude.... That was really uncalled for.
moochelle obama should try the ho burgers, good for publicity.
When she gets going, perhaps she will branch out. I wonder if teaming with other burger joints could be figured out. Up here in Seattle there is “Dick’s” burgers.
there is a chinese restaurant I used to go to when I worked in lake City, Fl...
“FU KING RESTAURANT “... not kidding.
we used to joke and say , “hey want to go the F...g Chinese restuarant today?”
Can’t see any other reason for choosing the name.
I have a Shaw Brothers kung fu movie from the 70s called “Dirty Ho.”
It is actually pretty good, not what you might think, but I always wondered if them boys from Hong Kong had a clue about what the last part would grow to mean over here.
Gordon Liu baby, he rocks as the main character, and as Pai Mei and Johnny Mo in the Kill Bill films.
When Eddie Murphy hawked the book, “I Wanna Be a Ho!”, it was meant to be a joke.
The name was actually "Hi Fat" and he was in "The Man With The Golden Gun". He was the guy who initially hired Scaramanga.
We now return you to your burger thread.
All the best of a deep dish pizza pie but with several Nigiri sushi toppings true gourmet delights. Black Jellyfish Makizushi wrapped in Oishii Nori Seaweed and a thick Sundried Tomatoes and Black Licorice Sauce. Wow! It make you forget your peanuts butter on roof of mouth! Spinney Orange Colored Worm with Orange Shrimps and swim in Orange Sauce. Phat say: "Go Big Orange! Garnish with anchovy you like!" 10-Tenacles Squid Pizza -- Special for full house $10. Snipe Eel Lover's -- Enough said. Boxfish Okonomiyaki with extra-extra shiso! Fugu Pepperoni Blowfish Hikari-kari Wasabi Yaki Suzuki & Pyrosome Carnivore* *Spicy! Remember: Fresh ingredients make better Deep Swish pizza!
Worth a trip to Waco to try it out! Well........ maybe, if you are headed in that direction anyway.

Dick’s is THE place to go after the bars close, you’re drunk, and want a bite. Delicious fries, too.

John Steinbeck said it best: “The memory is at best a faulty, warpy reservoir”.
Thank you.
Are those burgers “hand spanked”?

The true entrepreneurial spirit——Evans said she had to invest everything she owned.”I had to sell my car, my tires, my TV, my laptop, my computer. I had to sell all this to get this up.”
