WACO, Texas, March 25 (UPI) -- A young Texas woman decided there is no such thing as bad publicity when she considered names for her Waco eatery and decided on Fat Ho Burger.
The restaurant opened Tuesday, and Lakisha Evans' plan seems to be working so far, KENS-TV in San Antonio reported. She has a straightforward business plan.
"My burgers, they're cheap. They don't go over 6 bucks because I thought, you know, I grew up in poverty," Evans said.
Evans, 23, grew up in Waco with her mother and five siblings. She is the only one in the family to graduate from college.
The whole family is working at Fat Ho Burgers, but Evans said she had to invest everything she owned to start it.
"I had to sell my car, my tires, my TV, my laptop, my computer. I had to sell all this to get this up," she told KENS.
The name is bringing in the customers.
"I was just wondering is this the famous place we can get burgers at," one asked.
Retraining class for you! :)

Please, Please, Please DON’T throw me in that briar patch.
I can have better access to the ‘target audience’ in the Retraining Class... ha...
At least till Nurse Cratched and company pull a McMurphy on me. <: <: <:
haha cool, didn’t know they were online. I like their tagline: “We’re different from others” LOL!
You’ll know she’s succeeded when you see nearby Waco burger joints opening up with names like “Big Prostitute” and “Phat Whore.” (Like here in LA, where Tommy’s burgers are often surrounded by ripoffs like Big Tomy’s [sic], Tom’s Burgers, etc.)
Well, I haven’t been to this Fat Ho place yet, but it will have to measure up to Kitoks and Health Camp to get my burger business. and Health Camp is in no way “health food” it’s a nice greasy old fashioned burger and you can get real old fashioned malts with ‘em too!!! And the onion rings are a must!!! Kitoks is my favorite though.
Well, if I understand the meaning of "Ho," it could be . . .
胖娼妓 The Mandarin pronounciation being "pang chang-ji."
Thanks for the update. Wonder if her 15 minutes of fame is about up or if she can keep this going. I still haven’t found time to go, have you?
No, haven’t been there to eat yet. Looks busy every time I have driven by!
