WACO, Texas, March 25 (UPI) -- A young Texas woman decided there is no such thing as bad publicity when she considered names for her Waco eatery and decided on Fat Ho Burger.
The restaurant opened Tuesday, and Lakisha Evans' plan seems to be working so far, KENS-TV in San Antonio reported. She has a straightforward business plan.
"My burgers, they're cheap. They don't go over 6 bucks because I thought, you know, I grew up in poverty," Evans said.
Evans, 23, grew up in Waco with her mother and five siblings. She is the only one in the family to graduate from college.
The whole family is working at Fat Ho Burgers, but Evans said she had to invest everything she owned to start it.
"I had to sell my car, my tires, my TV, my laptop, my computer. I had to sell all this to get this up," she told KENS.
The name is bringing in the customers.
"I was just wondering is this the famous place we can get burgers at," one asked.
Next, they can add spaghetti puttescana.
“We got MacDonald’s!!! We got MacDonald’s!!!”
I guess that’s what they mean by “fusion!” LOL!
I wonder if she has a Spare Tire burger. Or a BIF burger.
“Most people I know of, who are mostly cheap are happy with the dollar menu at McDs.”
Yeah, folks love the dollar menu! Check out this guy who explains how to assemble your own “Ghetto Big Mac”, from the dollar menu, and save money vs the real thing:

Hopefully she doesn't run afoul of these guys' trademark.
Hope she prospers and learns some business acumen to keep her business afloat beyond the novelty phase.
And you standing there with this big “house burger”.
That was my parents when I was growing up, that’s why the Eddie Murphy routine struck a chord with me. Especially the part where you would take off the edges of the Wonder Bread to try to make it look more like a hamburger bun. Been there, done that!
I think it’s the same in every language.
:)
Paging Don Imus. Double set of standards it appears.
“Its a joke! they make big greasy super burgers!”
OK then, I’m all in. Grease = Taste.
I wonder if she has The Two Seater. A burger so fat you have to pay for it twice.
Flavor country! LoL
“Somehow, I immediately pictured Lunelle....”
I love Borat, but it still worries me a little that you remember her name :D
Yeah it’s pretty cheap for a sit down burger. Cheaper than Denny’s. I don’t think she’s competing with fast food.
Hell, at 23 she’s starting her own business when most her age seem to be playing x-box in mom’s basement. I wish her well.
Good for her.
