SAN FRANCISCO (AFP) – More than half of US adults use online social networking service Facebook, according to an upcoming study.

A report by Edison Research and Arbitron Inc. to be released on April 5 includes the finding that 51 percent of US residents age 12 or older have profiles set up at Facebook.

I used to use FB but now nada. I find the site a bit confusing with all sorts of nonsense thrown in. Mostly annoying really!

I use facebook. I enjoy it but it can be a big time waster. For the most part, people can’t “hide” like they do on FR behind fake names. Some people don’t post their pics but most do.

I do. I use it to inform those around me (usually, people younger than me) on political issues and keep them abreast of the realities of the world.

FB is like any tool - if you use it poorly, and it will turn around and bite you. If you have some system mastery with it, then you can get a lot of mileage out of it.

Hell. No. I use Twitter for micro-blogging but no way on Facebook. The only time I will open an account is when my daughters are old enough to use it and their mother and I approve it which will be a while from now.

FB is perfectly safe if your password isn’t 123 and your settings are correct, which really isn’t that hard to do. It’s no different then surfing the net, click on the wrong thing and badda-bing, your a bot on the internet for a HaX0r to use...

I use FB regularly, and mainly to keep up with all those who I now live 3..4..500 miles away from.

I use it. My relatives and friends are scattered across the country. It is the best way to keep up with everyone. I don’t post about everyday things. It is better than classmates.
