One thing is for sure. The president of the U.S. will not perform his job, he will not gather the proper experts together to formulate a best guess on the radiation heading our way. And he will not hold a press conference.
Instead, he's heading down to South America, well out of the way of the radiation plume heading our way. If his wife and kids go with him, then you know it's going to be far worse than they are letting on.
Meanwhile, our military families have to “shelter in place”

Navy families in Japan urged to stay indoors

The commander of Naval Forces Japan is recommending that sailors and their families at Fleet Activities Yokosuka and Naval Air Facility Atsugi take special action to limit their exposure to radiation.
In a web video message released Tuesday, Rear Adm. Richard Wren urged sailors and their families to limit their outdoor activities and, if possible, close outdoor ventilation sources to their homes to avoid radioactive materials coming from the damaged Fukushima Dai-Ichi nuclear power plant.
The plume is coming by plane:

Obama probably has Air Force 1 covered with lead panels until he takes off for south America....meanwhile, he hides out in his lead-lined shelter watching basketball and playing with his putting machine.
Those of us who were around back then remember that there was hysteria. We were not allowed to drink milk for periods after atmospheric tests in the Pacific because of Strontium-90. I don’t think that was just my parents, because I remember it was on the news.
I was too young to know in 1945-1946 if there was hysteria over US fallout from the Hiroshima/Nagasaki bombs.
La plume de ma tante.
Obama doesn’t need to be here and I suspect his enablers don’t want him here either. In due time his enablers will have a prepared ‘talking points’ for him to sound intelligent. Give the guy a break. Maybe he needs to explore the world to choose fitting places for exile.

Well as long as Barry is safe thats all I care about. Besides Carnivale only comes once a year.
Looks like you had a blast...
But if you want to see THE BIG HIT-IT, click here. She was cute, wore very high heels, and it had been more than a day.
Well, those short term alerts ignored the fact that over the years, the radiation circled the globe, settling down onto the earth and the feed of animals.
We have all grown up with more radioactivity in our food than we think.
Even in places far, far away from the tests.
There was some decent reporting in the 70’s on this phenomenon and how cesium and strontium were detected in milk in India and China and all over the place.
There is a huge difference between causing a fireball and massive convection column (as well as the sheer force of a nuclear detonation which puts radionucleides high in the atmosphere) in a detonation, and the relatively weak and small convection cell from a fire at sea level.
Nuclear weapon fallout follows a different pattern of distribution because it is much higher in the atmosphere.
Obammy wants everyone to head on out to California and run a marathon to keep the economy rolling. I figure this is so because he called for Americans to run over to the Gulf and swim in the corexit and oil.
I thought all that hedonism ended on Fat Tuesday, same day as Mardis Gras, right before Ash Wednesday. I’m no expert here, but I heard it was already over.
Leave it to Our Dear Leader, a week late and a trillion dollars short.
>>the relatively weak and small convection cell from a fire at sea level.
It seems the real issue may well be the condition and state of the used fuel rods storage pools.
On another lighter note, there was a radio story of some people on the West Coast getting bad allergic reactions to the potassium iodide pills they swallowed.
