Coach Knight coached West Point before he made Indiana a multiple National Champion.
While at West Point, Coach Knight coached a Cadet named Mike Krzyzewski. West Point Grad Krzyzewski went on to coach West Point, then went on to Duke.
Now, granted Duke had gone to the NCAA finals a couple years before Coach K got there, he made that program.
They built their own tradition of excellence.
I don’t really disagree. I guess my point is there aren’t many Bob Knight’s or Coach K’s out there.
