Fox News Channel has hired former Democratic Indiana Sen. Evan Bayh as an on-air contributor.

The network announced Tuesday it had hired Bayh to offer commentary and analysis across Fox News' programming ahead of the 2012 elections.

Since leaving politics, Bayh has also signed on as a partner at a law firm and was appointed a senior adviser to private equity firm Apollo Global Management.

FOX can afford to do this.

They’ve got the conservative street cred. So they can now raid MSNBC and CNN for more audience share.

This is VERY smart on Ailes’ part.

Best,

Chris

Hmmmmm. Looks like Fair and Balanced is moving in the direction of Unfair and Imbalanced. On the bright side - maybe less airtime for Geraldo.

I disagree that Fox “can afford this” or that they’ll now nibble around the edges of the CNN and MSNBC audience by getting a tad less conservative. Isn’t that the same as being the media equivalent of a RINO?

Evan Bayh and Lanny Davis in the same week? We can catch crap like that everywhere else -and Fox inches closer to being everybody else.

How so. Watching this dynamic guy talk is like watching pudding set. What a snooze. This dude should open a funeral home and just go away.

Well, I wasn't considering if he could juggle or sing. But, he was a Secretary of State for Indiana, a two-term Governor and a two-term Senator. This, from a heartland state. While a Democrat, he is considered by many to be a fiscal conservative. He has a reasonable demeanor and voice.

I wonder if he can dance?

I agree, this was smart. Having Colmes as the only liberal is getting old, we need a new whipping boy.

I not sure how smart this is. FNC has been tracking left in the past 18 months and lots of conservatives (like me) have stopped watching.

“Isn’t that the same as being the media equivalent of a RINO?”

Spot on. FNC is following the path most RINOs take: seeing how much you can p!ss conservatives off without totally losing them.

Lately FNC has become the happy hunting ground for RINOs and neocons with a healthy sprinkling of liberals.

Thanks for the heads up on this one, EdReform.

I don’t know who I despise more Saul Alinsky or Colmes. Both made their claim to fame based upon a powerful ability to lie without guilt.

I don’t care which of the FOX shows he shows his ugly face as once I see it the channel gets changed. If I wanted to listen to an a$$ I’d pass gas.

I grew up in Indiana when this idiot’s father was king cheese. Just trailer trash. Another reason for me to not watch FOX. Or any tv for that matter.
