First find out whether a mild, medium or full bodied cigar is enjoyed, Macanudo is good for mild to medium, Punch has a nice full bodied Maduro wrapper cigar. How much you want to spend? Go online to Cigars International or other sites and they can guide you.

Punch Robustos also come in an “EMS” which is short for English Market Selection. These are not as harsh, in my opinion as a Maduro and bolder than a lighter wrapper. They are always a good drawing cigar, well made and not too long a smoke. You don’t say what occasion, but they are good for almost all occasions. Strong enough for outdoors (and golf) and great with a variety of liquor and brandy. It’s a good midrange cigar, not showy.

Just an opinion from an old cigar smoker. If I didn’t know much about the smoker, I’d go for a five pack of these little babies, not too much money, but pretty hard to beat and consistent.

If you want to splurge and go for the big enchilada, ask your local cigar dealer if you can look in the humidor “in the back” and he’ll probably have some contraband. Ask him for an R&J Habana Churchill. If the boss doesn’t like that, quit and find a new job.
