Japanese stoicism may be a valid impression, I don’t know. However, let me remind everyone that the whole Gulf Coast was hit by Katrina, and not all the reaction was like that of New Orleans. In many areas the people just put their shoulders to the grindstone and started to rebuild.

Even the TV version of New Orleans only showed the slum dwellers doing most of the looting, like most of the crime when there is no disaster. Check the crime stats.

The Japanese are the most bigoted nationalistic group of people on the face of the earth.

Chinese and Koreans are not far behind them.

As a round eye that's been to Asia, I couldn't believe the hatred these collective slant eyes have for each other.

We look at an Asian and see an Asian, they see an enemy of a thousand years.

The average American holds a grudge for about an hour, infinity wouldn't describe the amount of time needed to heal animosity in the Orient.

Hmm, my experience was that the Chinese are the MOST bigoted, referring to all other asians as “The descendants of ancient Chinese criminals who escaped justice”.

Their offered solution would make Hitler smile.

The Japanese have a national conceit of their own, they look down on the Koreans.

The Koreans despise the Japanese with a passion, the older generation loathes Japan beyond measure, they will never forgive the invasion and forced prostitution of their mothers as “Comfort Women”.

Yet they are all in business together.
