I saw Shawshank and thought it was a pretty good movie but just cannot fathom those who see it as full of some kind of mystical meaning. They go out of their was to make the evil warden a Christian.

Shawshank Redemption definitely on my favorite lists. Like the “Harry Dean Stanton Rule”, if a movie is on TV and I watch it, even if it’s in the middle or end when I tune in, it’s a classic. (Even if I OWN the DVD). Godfather, Pulp Fiction, definite YES. Over rated: Philadelphia. I know Demme wanted to shed his “anti-gay” (Silence of the Lambs) image in PC Hollywood, but I felt NO sympathy or even cared for the Tom Hanks character. It was spoon-fed pro-gay propaganda.
